Drive-Thru lady must’ve had a bad day. But she clearly has a hearing issue and was rude to every customer. It’s ok to admit that you misheard someone. Don’t be arrogant and dishonest. Shame on that lady and whoever decided to hire her. What a terrible choice in employment in both sides.

I got to the drive thru and I wanted to order just a sandwich and add an apple cider to it. I kept talking to the window, but I guess it was too late so that’s fine.
When I got to the window they charged me for two drinks and two sandwiches. The one cashier kept insisting that I had ordered a latte and that was the one thing she could hear and I kept having to repeat that I can’t have caffeine, I only ordered a sandwich and then an apple cider at the window. They kept turning to their coworkers insisting I ordered a latte when I did not. Still don’t know how they decided to ring me up for two sandwiches and then only prepared one for me at the window, it feels obvious there was only one sandwich at that point.
They fixed the issue but it took two extra members of their staff and they were overall dismissive and defensive. It took a long time to wait and even longer to fix the issue. I wanted to try this place out to support a more local business but I don’t think I will ever come back or can in good conscience recommend this spot to anyone just from the service alone.
I understand the workers might feel disgruntled for whatever personal reason but I left feeling guilty that I had intruded on them by trying to buy from their coffee shop.

Earlier today I wanted to get medium latte from French Press in drive through. I pull up to the order board and wait over 5 minutes to place my order, after I order, I wait another 20 minutes with only one person in front of me.
While I'm waiting I realized I left my wallet at home, I only had $3 and my phone (Venmo) on me. When I finally go to the window I explained to the person at the window that I left my wallet at home but still had $3 and Venmo, and asked if they would take either or those. My drink was only $4.50. But they would not, even after waiting almost half an hour in a line with hardly no one in it. There was not way for me to exit the drive through early so I was forced to wait.
Shame on me for forgetting my wallet, but no apology for the long wait and they would rather throw the coffee they prepared away instead of taking my $3 and cutting me a break. This is horrible customer service, I will never go back. There's plenty of other options for coffee in town.

I am a frequent customer here. Been coming for years. I like the coffee and the breakfast sandwiches, and even the coffee-shop music is OK. But this morning was unacceptable. The workers were playing rap on a device behind the counter and it was loud. I went to the far corner to do some work on my computer, but the rap clashed with the regular coffee shop tape that was playing on the in-house speakers. Argh.... The workers eventually turned off their rap, but they were pretty indignant about it. This is my last visit to French Press on Severn in Metairie.
Great coffee shop! I've been to several in New Orleans and this one is at the top.Food: Granted, the only thing I have had here is the iced chai tea, but it is some of the best I've had. I don't really understand people on here who give one star reviews because the barista didn't smile at them or welcome them into the establishment. I don't tend to care all that much about that sort of thing, especially when it isn't a sit down restaurant. The barista at the counter when I ordered was polite and quick. I have no complaints.Atmosphere: Lots of comfortable seating with plenty of outlets to charge devices. There are windows everywhere, which makes the space feel more open and natural. Although it definitely feels like a chain (it is), I don't find that to be a problem.

The bad rating is based on the bathrooms. The men's room was out of order. The women's restroom (just one room) had poop smeared on wall. Didn't see it at first. This was same wall that TP was leaning on because it was not in the dispenser. Paper towels also sitting on edge of sink and not in dispenser. Felt disgusting after going in there. You know if the bathroom us horrible then I know that's where employees making my food are also going.

The coffee drinks, food, and sweets here are fantastic. The portion sizes of the sandwiches/wraps are a really good size. The club sandwich is huge, and packed with ingredients. I've never had anything I didn't like here. You can eat inside, or sit outside on the patio. This is a go to for my kids, and I when we go to Metairie. It's a must try!
