We periodically stop in to Mooyah’s for burgers. We really enjoy the food. As usual, we had a good visit.

I don’t go a lot, but when I do the burgers and fries are always good, like today. The main reason I decided to write this review was because of the big smile from Morgan when I first walked in. I quickly learned as I was ordering and asking questions that it was her first day. She was learning the ropes. Everyone at the Metairie location was friendly and polite from the manager down. I was especially impressed by Morgan though. If you were in a bad mood walking in it would be hard to stay there with her smile and friendly personality. Good job, Morgan! Stay joyful. That smile will take you places.

Picked up an order for three people today, and the food was delicious! We had a ton of fries to share, the burger bun was soft and fresh, the bacon was crispy and the MOOYAH sauce was on point! The burgers are thin but still tasty!

Really good. The fries are golden and crispy and the burgers are juicy and salty (in a good way) with the perfect soft bun. Seating is a classic burger joint layout and the staff are easy going and friendly. The whole order was right and they were polite

It was a night like any other, and yet—somehow—not like any other at all. I had prepared my soul, my appetite, nay, my very being for a pilgrimage to Mooya. Visions of burgers danced in my head like sirens on the shore, luring me closer, whispering promises of flavor so decadent it might elevate me beyond the confines of mortal existence.

I entered. And then—it hit me. Not the sizzling perfume of grilled perfection. Not the triumphant chorus of freshly fried potatoes. No. Instead, an odious specter rose up from the depths of the dining area, a sulfuric miasma so cruel it could only be described as the ghost of sewage past. My nostrils, once optimistic scouts for joy, now betrayed me, filling my brain with dread and despair.

I froze. Should I press on? Should I anchor myself to my destiny, taste buds be damned, and embrace this hellish aroma as the price of glory? My heart whispered yes, but my gut churned a firm and resounding no.

And so, in a moment of tragic clarity, I turned my back on Mooya—the place that could have been, the love that never was. With heavy steps but a resolute will, I staggered out into the night, my spirit cracked but unbroken.

There, like a shining beacon in the culinary dark, rose Shakeshake. The neon lights glimmered like salvation itself. Their fries, crisp. Their shakes, thick. Their dining area—mercifully free of eau de sewer. I entered, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity (though truly it had only been minutes), I breathed. I ate. I lived again.

Thus my tale concludes: Mooya, felled not by taste, but by scent; and Shakeshake, victorious, not by chance, but by cleanliness.

TLDR: Dining room smells like sewage.

Manifested Gr8ness

The Manager Is Sassy and Rude , not sure how he got the position . Puts someone new on the phone to answer a call , then gets on the phone being sassy and hangs up... all because he was unprofessional and did not want to deal with the matter at hand like a manager should. Sad

By far the best burgers 🍔 and fries 🍟 I've eaten so far 😋. Everything is made fresh. I went for lunch today with my boyfriend and he loved it. I had the bbq bacon and cheddar burger with grilled onions and pickles and shared fries and he the bbq burger with crispy onions. not to mention great atmosphere and superb service. Very friendly staff. Definitely will be going back. Its my new favorite place to eat. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I just didn't care for the setup and it took a bit too long. The burgers were too small.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Metairie Mooyah location on August 24, 2025. This used to be one of our favorite burger spots, but after tonight, we will not be returning.

When we placed our order, instead of the usual metal trays, we were handed a bag. When I clarified we were dining in, an employee claimed they had no clean trays—all were dirty. Yet, I could clearly see only two tables had customers and both had their food on trays. Later, when my wife’s order came out wrong, I returned to the counter and I noticed there was a large stack of clean trays between the prep station and the cashier’s station. When I questioned the inconsistency, an employee who identified himself as the “manager,” named Jachovee (spelling uncertain), reacted unprofessionally. Yes I made a general comment, not directed to anyone in specific, but as me saying “they are lazies”…even though I didn’t personally directed the comment to him or anyone directly, obviously his behavior took it as personal. Instead of addressing the real issue respectfully, he became defensive, dismissive, and combative—calling me “bro,” raising his voice, and even stating he didn’t care and that they were short handed…Even if that was the case, you have to still act professional. He even said he didn’t care to lose his job if I contacted corporate because he had “three other jobs.” …At one point, it appeared the trays were deliberately removed from sight, raising both health and honesty concerns. If they were truly dirty, they should not have been stacked by the food prep area where customers walk up.

This employee’s behavior escalated to the point where I felt unsafe and considered calling the police in case the situation turned physical. Which I did just to make sure he didn’t follow me or my wife outside the restaurant. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant or anywhere. What should have been a simple dine-in meal turned into an unpleasant confrontation.

As a longtime customer who has recommended Mooyah to many others, I am disheartened. Your food may be good, but unprofessional staff attitudes like this will drive loyal customers away. Tonight you didn’t just lose a sale—you lost a customer who has supported this location for years.
