I’ve been coming to RB for breakfast for a long time - and consistently say they have the best biscuits and gravy & for a reasonable price! Over the past few weekends, though, they have been almost un-eatable. Last weekend, they tasted like they were made with bad milk and this weekend the gravy was so thick it plopped out of the container and was too salty. I love this place and want to keep enjoying great biscuits and gravy, grits, and coffee. I’m going to continue visiting since it’s been so good in the past but just wanted to bring this to their attention so their gravy legacy can live on.

I used to go here with my family as a child. I am 29 now. I was hired on and thought it was going to be a good work opportunity. You get a shift meal but the other employees will tell you not to eat the food, because it’s often it is old or spoiled. That was a red flag to me. The coffee and tea are good but I just don’t recommend eating there. Then, I was pulled aside and scolded for having a private conversation about my pay with another employee, which is a legally protected activity. The next day, the owner called me and fired me, blaming it on very trivial things, for example, dumping the hot coffees a little too early at the end of the night. I was given the runaround about who to listen to as I was not properly trained so this felt unfair. I was also told that they couldn’t afford to keep me, even though they had just hired me, and should’ve been aware of what’s in their budget. Big let down.

I don't generally leave a review - but I am going to take the time to jot down a few lines here.
I have walked past this establishment more than a handful of times. Never stopped in due to the fact that I am usually in work out attire - or jeans and a tee shirt. As I am not much for the "fancy" coffee shops - mostly for the atmosphere being judgemental.
I decided to give it a shot - the first time I went in there , there was hardly any one in the building ( which is good for me ) the coffee was mediocre at best.
I decided to give this Business another go - just because you never know what someone is going through. Maybe the items sat out to long - maybe the coffee was poured too late after being brewed? Maybe the Barista just wasn't on top of their game.
This second go around is what leads to my one star review.
I am a female - I am a female with shaved hair - not anything to do with my sexual orientation - but to do with my line of work.
The atmosphere was different - I was being discriminated upon - silently of course - by my characteristics - my appearance - my demeanor.
As, I took witness to one of the employees being treated similarly .
I will not waste by time or money supporting that type of subtle - judgemental "superiority".
If you want an establishment that supports veterans / police officers and their spouses - I would kindly suggest going to PJS Coffee or French Press. The quality of the atmosphere is a lot more relaxing and the coffee is made better.
I am also stationed in a different State now and would highly recommend that whomever has made it thus far in my rant - to stop by a Black Rifle Coffee Company and try their honey coffee.
Best coffee around

The Chef Ty and the Barista Naye are the Jewels of this establishment. The owners made great choices in these 2. The many coffee flavors are bold and succulent. Glad I found the Gem tucked away in Old Metairie.
