Service and atmosphere was solid and the food hit the spot. The fried green tomatoes were on point and definitely the highlight of the meal—fresh, crispy, and full of flavor

I'm in town for the Falcons vs. Saints game from Atlanta. I came to the restaurant looking for something fresh and new. I was greeted by the waitress and welcomed into the establishment. I had no idea what to order because I don’t eat pork. The waitress, Deanna made a suggestion and ensured it was prepared without pork. I recommend this restaurant to all my Atlanta friends. Yes. The food was delicious and the price is reasonable. Ask for Deanna to be your waitress.

The service was impeccable. You can see the camaraderie between the employees as they interact with each other. As soon as we walk in the hostess greets us and asked us to wait as she bussed the table. While she was cleaning the table she thank a leaving couple and then came to seat us. Kirsten our server was very friendly, funny pleasant and playful. The Food was great. I don’t think I could have asked for a better outing.

Dee and Ruby’s Slipper is one of those rare breakfast spots that instantly feels like home the moment you walk in. The staff are genuinely warm — not just polite — and they make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Dee runs the floor with charm and efficiency, while Ruby’s kitchen turns out plates that hit every comfort note without ever feeling heavy or greasy.

The menu strikes the perfect balance between Southern classics and creative twists. The shrimp and grits are rich and perfectly seasoned, and the biscuits might be the best I’ve had in Louisiana — light, buttery, and clearly made from scratch. Coffee’s always fresh, and the presentation shows care, not pretense.

What really stands out is consistency: every visit feels just as good as the last. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast or settling in for a slow Sunday brunch, Dee and Ruby’s delivers that rare combination of great food, genuine hospitality, and local soul.

Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through or lucky enough to live nearby.

This is the best spot for breakfast in Metairie! I went with my parents and was served by Diana, she was amazing!! Great service & very friendly! We all had the bacon bloody mary, which was wonderful. I had ordered the Costa Rican breakfast, which was delicious beyond belief.
