We went to Zocalo on a Monday night at 7 pm. After waiting 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge us, we ordered drinks and requested chips and salsa. She came back 10 minutes later and told us they were out of chips and salsa, then that they didn't have what was needed to make one of the drinks we ordered. A Mexican restaurant was OUT of chips and salsa! Our entrees were fine, no complaints there. However, it took a while to get our check. I had to find our waitress who was sitting down scrolling social media on her phone. They double charged one of the credit cards and had issues trying to fix that. We have had issues with service at this restaurant in the past and decided that we will not be back.

Food is insanely overpriced to be just ok. Service was absolutely awful. I’d say to only come during happy hour but even that seems overpriced for the experience and food you get with it.

Zocalo use to have the best happy hour in town, apparently that has changed. Not worth the trip and will find another happy hour spot.

Shortly after we arrived the power went out.
The staff did everything possible to make us comfortable. We had 3 young children with us and they apologized for the inconvenience. Although our order could not be prepared they offered to bring the children tacos and refried beans and water and soft drinks.. When the local power company let them know the power would not be restored for 2 hours and we may want to find another restaurant. We always liked Zocolo. We went there often. Hats off to you and your staff Zocolo.

The Cinco Mayo Spot! And one of the most Fancy Mexican spot in town! This place has my heart! It has the best margaritas in town! Their coconut ? margarita is something else! To pair with that they have one of the best skirt steak in town! Their enchiladas divorciadas with red and green sauce are perfect! They also unique “Corn Rib” dish that is a must! And to make things even better all their staff are extremely welcoming and friendly!

The food is good and the atmosphere is great, but it's a bit pricey for a Mexican restaurant.

Had the best time here with my bestie of 30 years. We’ve been everywhere together around the Greater NOLA area but this place was simply delightful. Couldn’t stop giggling at how our mini-hurricane Tuesday night turned out; we changed our plans to eat here because of the weather on, coincidentally, on Taco Tuesday. Place was packed so we had an hour wait but hung around locally and it was worth it! We ate every taco on their menu + margaritas. All delish. Staff was excellent, fun, and friendly from hostess to server. Thanks for a swell night!

Zocalo is one of my favorite Mexican spots near the city! The chimichanga and tlayuda (like a Mexican pizza) are always so yummy and fresh! Try a margarita flight or go for happy hour, it won’t disappoint!
