??the atmosphere screams "sit a spell". The server was so friendly and kind, eager to please this newcomer.. she suggested their house specialty, Their homemade lasagna. Homemade pasta, the Italian sausage, the pasta sauce, all homemade. The bread.. I wasnt prepared for the size of the serving either. Considering every Italian-wannabe chain has small portions and large price tags. It was delicious! Ive eaten at many "Mom n Pop" Italian restaurants, but I dont think any others made their own sausage. Kudos to Geno's! I will be back!

I recently brought my wife to Geno's on a much needed date night. I was looking for The classic romantic Italian restaurant and I was not disappointed! The atmosphere was quiet and personal but also very cheerful. Our waitress was amazing and very patient! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and kind. The food was hands down the best Italian cuisine I have ever had. We started with salad which came with their homemade dressing! The mozzarella bread came with homemade sause as well. I had the combination platter and my wife(who is a notoriously picky eater) had the chicken alfredo, which she ate nearly all of. The experience especially for the price was out of this world. 10 out of 10 will definitely be going back.

I have lived in New Orleans for 12 years and i was excited to share Geno's, my childhood Italian restaurant, with my husband & daughter during our recent visit to Monroe. I was so glad to see that the family atmosphere has remained and that little has changed at the location, including the delicious food! The chianti, mozzarella cheese bread with marinara dipping sauce, Italian salads with mama's homemade dressing, fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna & snapper with seafood cream sauce were all scrumptious! The large slice of cheesecake with blueberry topping was the perfect sweet treat to end our meal! I was so pleased they loved the experience of dining at a childhood staple of mine. Thank you, Geno's, for another wonderful meal & memory

My absolute a favorite place in town. We visited for my birthday, and Ladonna was absolutely wonderful. She was serving the entire place herself, and no one was going unnoticed or neglected. She was so sweet to each and every one of us and made sure we were all welll taken care of. Additionally, the food is amazing. It's all homemade and full of flavor. I can't wait to visit again. :)

The atmosphere could be considered "charming" but really could use some updating. Seating was confusing, we only saw a small hand-written sign to seat ourselves after looking around for a minute whilst standing amongst other diners. We were not greeted by anyone and made our way to the patio. Our server is hopefully new, otherwise she has no business being a server. She never introduced herself and had limited knowledge of the menu. We all ordered waters with lemon. The lemon slices were very old and dried out, not what you would expect for an Italian restaurant on a Saturday night. We order an appetizer and our entrees at the same time. I ordered a large salad obviously as my entree and my husband's meal came with a side salad. We didn't have to wait long for my entree salad to be delivered. Before we had any Silverware, before our appetizer, before my husband's side salad. Just me and a large salad with nothing to eat it with. After a few more minutes we asked about our appetizer and were told that a larger party was getting all the bread and we would have to wait. I can understand having a backed up kitchen but that was a poor way for her to let us know she was more concerned with her other table. We finally got all our entrees and silverware. My husband ordered a "platter" that was very small for the price. It included the lasagna which very much tasted like it had been frozen. His meat all was burnt and his manicotti also tasted like it had been frozen. I thought this kind of stuff only happens on "Kitchen Nightmares".It maybe a hometown favorite but if you've ever eaten at a real Italian restaurant that cares about quality and service you will be disappointed. Just go to Olive Garden.

There's no host/hostess, and only a small sign telling you to seat yourself. Our server, whatever her name was, as she never introduced herself, was outwardly rude and treated us as though it was an inconvenience to wait on us. She did not know how to pace dinner. My wife's entree came out before the appetizer or my dinner salad. Why is a dinner salad from an Italian restaurant coming out with ranch dressing on it? Yuck! My entree, the combo platter was awful. The manicotti had a bland meat inside of it, and had obviously been microwaved. Why is manicotti being stuffed with meat? That dish is traditionally stuffed with ricotta cheese. The meatball tasted like it had been sitting in sauce on a heat table for six or more hours. We went less than 2 hours after opening, so they served me a day old meatball. The lasagna wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. It was on par with stouffer's. Just don't go here.
