Paid $35 for pasta I barely ate so decided to take the left overs home. Not complaining on the food everything was good. We paid and left, I realized my mother forgot to grab my to go box, we were close by I had just turned left on the stop sign at the end of the road. turned back around to go see if it was still on the table. It wasn’t. They threw my $35 barely eaten pasta away.. they could have waited to see if I would come back for it. Manager said there was nothing they could do. Maybe next time wait a little before throwing away a full box of food.. I wouldn’t be so upset if it was half eaten, but it wasn’t.

Great food! Great service! Food was tasty and good size portions. My friend and I split 2 entrees and both were great! We will be back soon.

Food was amazing. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Seated ourselves and server promptly came by and took our order. Pork ribeye was amazing. Wife got shrimp and grits and said it was the best she ever had. Only disappointment was we had to ask for refills each time. Take note that they automatically grat you for five or more and there’s an 3% credit card fee.

Overall 5 stars, the only drawback, it was loud. We had this lady who did not understand how to talk at all normal range…😳 so loud! Food was good, drinks were great, service was 💯

It was a packed house! Lots of folks! We got lucky and slid in without waiting to be seated! God is good!

Honestly wanted to give the food 3 stars but the turnip greens saved the dish..felt rushed from the start asked multiple times in less then 5 min if i knew what I wanted to eat! Appetizers came out fast hot and fresh ..main dish took over 25 min from time ordered to being served..overall ok-ish place to eat ..I always give places a second chance that will be the only reason I come back here to eat.

I really hate to write this type of review. My group from a good company came out for lunch. We called the day before and told them that 14 people were coming and they said they could handle it. I can't give them less than a one. One positive thing I can say is the waitress is Awesome and she did all she could being that she was maybe one waitress out of two. After waiting about and hour 1/2 our food finally came and let me just say I feel we got the bottom of the fish nugget bag even thou we were told it was 3 nice pieces this is not what we got They were so hard and the potatoes with gravy was cold. I hate that this happen but this is very unnecessary. No apologies no nothing. I had to pay for something i couldn't even eat. We got her at 11:30 and it's 1:30 and we still here waiting on our tickets. Poor waitress, my heart goes out to her. Noone should have their waitress working like this. Please do better!!!

My husband and I love this place. We have eaten here many many times, but always during the day. Our experiences have been great so of course when we have friends come in to town to visit this is where we wanted to take them. Unfortunately, it was a terrible first experience for them. We were a table of 9. We ordered two duck wraps, chargrilled oysters, and mozzarella sticks. We did not receive everything that was ordered. The server did ask us if we wanted the food brought out as it was ready, and at this point it had been an hour and a half, so we said yes. She brought out the two quesadillas, a poboy, and the Monterrey chicken. Everyone had eaten all of their food and two had already paid then left before the second round came out. Also side note, one guy asked for his ticket and it took another 20 minutes to get it. Shrimp tacos and gumbo came next (at this point it had been almost two hours). I ordered my husband shrimp and grits. After an hour and 45 minutes my husband went to speak with the manager. The manager said she would check on his order and see what was going on. Twenty minutes later when everything but his order and the mozzarella sticks were at the table he got back up and spoke to the manager. She told him his meal was never cooked in the kitchen so she canceled his order. My husband was very angry and asked what is he suppose to eat now. Her response was that someone sent back onion rings and he could have those. The cook offered gumbo so they agreed on that and the manager brought gumbo. The manager told my husband that they had a lot of online orders and that’s why things were behind. Also, the table next to us was a couple on a date. They never received their appetizers. The first thing they received was the man’s steak after an hour and a half.

With that being said, the food is amazing here and the atmosphere is great but the customer service is terrible. Once again, only in the evenings bc the daytime manager is absolutely AMAZING. We love Jay Pappa’s and go here all the time but never again in the evenings. This happened last night and I woke up this morning with it still bothering me. Also, checked my receipt and was still charged gratuity. I will be contacting them for that money back.

This is definitely a Collegetown restaurant so if you’re looking for a quiet dining, I would not recommend going on the weekends. This is a great place to take Family or celebratory trips, especially with their great food.

Jay Pappa's is a hidden gem! My family and I celebrated my son's college graduation there during lunchtime. There atmosphere was peaceful, neat, clean and had plenty of character with great pictures of Jay Pappa's hanging on the walls, wine racks filled with wine bottles also hanging on the wall great idea! The menu has a good variety that allows you options of food to choose from including some a la carte items. The prices are reasonable and affordable. I cannot say enough about Blair who is simply amazing! She is a New Orleans native who is most awesome, professional, patient and knows everything about providing excellent customer service. She went above and beyond for us and I'll never forget it! Blair made us feel as though we were the only customers in the restaurant and we appreciated that. I look forward to my next visit! Thanks Blair you rock!!!

Terrible service. Waitress was curt and rude. Oyster appetizer came out cold and disgusting; rather than remake the order, they warmed them up which means now the
cheese was burned and the oyster was overcooked. Large party, however the food still took too long and was not worth the wait. Came all the way from Dallas for this nonsense. Unfortunate.
