Love the chill vibe. The food was excellent. Liked that the stuffed crab was not mini like at some of the other seafood places. Oysters were delicious. Catfish was nice big fillets. Highly recommend.

Quite little hole in the wall type atmosphere service is great. Food is excellent. Every time we go.
Got the Swamp platter and it was terrible and expensive. 1 piece cat fish, 4 small pieces of overcooked gator, and either fried crawfish or popcorn shrimp, not sure.I don’t know why it was market price cause it was all frozen. $26. Oysters were good. I feel ripped off because nothing on platter was fresh so don’t know why it was market priced.
Highly recommend the Mohawk Tavern for anyone coming through Monroe. I went for the first time midday and there was no crowd but I heard it stays busy for lunch and dinner. The fresh oysters were amazing, The fried oyster were amazing. My stuffed crab and fried shrimp were also great! Nice menu and great service.

I haven’t been there for a few years, but if it’s still the same it’s a must for anyone traveling to or near Monroe. Inside the vibe is unique. Place looks like they closed it in 1972, and reopened it last week without changing or dusting anything. White coated waiters provide excellent service. All the food is very good.

It's time to Sunset this old troglodyte. My parents took me there as a kid many years ago and recently I found myself in the area so I went back. Forget the service. The seafood is Frozen. I give them two stars for the ambiance. It said to see a venerable institution such as the mohawk go down but it's nobody's fault except the incompetent managers whom I would not hire for a fast food position. If you're reading this review don't disappoint Yourself by going to the Mohawk Tavern anymore. It's living on the reputation of many years back but it's delivering crapola in terms of food and service

It's a vintage restaurant. Cool place. It's a little throwback days.
Me and my wife walked in this place waited to be seated but nobody came so we asked if we could seat ourselves and they really didn’t know. We proceeded to sit down and the wait began. Took approximately 20 mins to get drink ordered, took 15 mins to receive them. The drinks were completely gone, nobody came by or nothing. So we waited, & waited, & waited, & waited some more. We finally ordered our food. Finally after an hour out came a bowl of lettuce (brown at that) with a dab of ranch. A basket of crackers as well. That was the only thing going so far. And we waited &waited some more, after 2 hrs and still no food we decided enough was enough. There was people of same race that came in 1 1/2 hours after we did and got fed yet we were still waiting. She said she felt it was discrimination due to we were an interracial couple. I personally didn’t care if it was or wasn’t I was done waiting and went to get something else to eat from another restaurant.

Waited 1 hour before waiter walked by amd asked if we were ready to order. I said we would like to start with 2 dozen oysters, he walked away mumbling that it is 5 ahead of us. Brought them 30.min later, never asked of we wanted an entrée. We paid $56 for 2 dozen oysters amd 2
