The absolute worst experience ever! It was my sister’s birthday and a party of 16 guests with one waitress. She was super slow and couldn’t remember anything. Half the guests received some of their meal or just one item, while the other half starved. I would suggest a large party to never eat here. It was very hot on the patio and the restaurant has the capability to provide air on the patio!! Never again!! This was on Saturday, June 28th, never accept a large party if you cannot accommodate!!
Great spot, good food. Would definitely return!
Enjoyed an early dinner. We seated ourselves as there was no hostess. The redfish was really good, and the steak was excellent. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive.
Brought my daughter for her birthday with her friends. Took 20 minutes for them to even acknowledge us being there. $40 Fillet was overcooked. The kids had an OK time though.
The Voodoo Nachos are amazing!
Our server Whitney, did not communicate with us well at all there was no “how are yall doing” she didn’t ask us any questions we had to tell her our drinks. She had to be called over to take our order because she was paying no attention to us at all. It was so bad that the manager swapped out waiters. But I can say the food is AMAZING and the other staff as well as the manager are great
Love this place. I wish there were more of them.
I recently visited Portico for the first time and left with mixed impressions. The food was flavorful—my steak had a good seasoning blend, maybe a bit too salty, which surprised me because I usually enjoy saltier foods. I had to scrape off the seasonings from the top I ordered it medium rare, but it came out closer to well done.
I also want impressed with the size of the steak either. It's supposed to be an 8oz steak, but it came out looking smaller than a 6oz that I've had at other places such as texas Roadhouse or Logans.
Maybe it was like that because it was cooked longer than med rare, I'm not sure.
The main issue was the pricing. The steak was listed at $25, and all I had with it was a tea. The total came out to nearly $33. The receipt clearly listed a card transaction fee, which hadn’t been mentioned beforehand or posted anywhere that I saw. I personally think that’s a cost the business should absorb—not the customer.
The atmosphere was nice and service was fine, but overall, the experience didn’t quite match the price point. I’m glad I tried it, but next time I’m in the mood for steak, I’ll probably stick with somewhere like Texas Roadhouse, or Logans where I feel like I get more consistency and value.
Sat a waited and waited- finally left without anyone working ever batting an eye. Place has taken hard turn for the worse
Portico was once a staple in our small town, but I can no longer say I recommend. To-go quesadilla was completely burnt on the bottom. The server at window said absolutely nothing when she gave us our food; she had no response when we said thank you. She actually slammed the window after giving us our food, only to forget our drink. After waving to get someone’s attention, she opened the window & again, said not one word. Only writing a review since I’ve tried calling & the phone line has been “busy” for 10+ mins. VERY dissatisfied.

We went to portico today, we were the only 2 customers inside the restaurant besides one other guy at the bar. We waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink orders.. we finally flagged someone down 20 minutes later to order food. The guy who we spoke to asked the bartender if she would take us (as customers, we were sitting at the bar) she very rudely said “NO”. We were sitting right there watching this all happen. She then said “I am about to leave”. We then got upset and felt like a burden and just asked for the check for the drinks. We sat there for 30 minutes and this all occurred. They were not busy, the bartender didn’t even look our direction while we were waiting to order and continued to talk to the person infront of her at the bar and ignored us. I’m a regular customer here and this was very disappointing. I won’t be back.

Going 3.8 here. No one to seat or greet you at 11:30 for lunch, after waiting for a minute a server said just sit anywhere you like. Serverer was good and prompt. Chicken quesadillas was good but light on the cheese, Cajun pasta was ok, the chop steak special tasted as good as it looked, but the Ahi tuna steak was cooked too long, so made it tough and dry. Asparagus was ok, small and yellow in color, probably not a good time of year to have on the menu. Love the set up and decor of the restaurant. It's a good lunch spot, but today could have been a little better.

Basically, the majority of the food was delicious. Since my son and I last visited before January 2022, the prices had skyrocketed. I mean, I know that the world is suffering from inflation, but I had never paid more than $25 for a meal and drinks. It cost $37 for a small pizza, chicken quesadillas, and a small bowl of mac and cheese. Almost $7 for two diet Dr. Peppers. Gesh.
For the most part, the server was fine, but she would constantly finish with our table and go to a spot at the bar to play on her phone. If the staff is going to check their phones, they should do so in a private area. I waited an extra ten minutes after receiving my bill and paying for it for her to return to receive her tip in person, but her phone was more important. Even when I walked by and said thank you, she simply smiled and waved. No talking, no wishing us a good day. The tip was $12, and she served us in less than an hour, but customer service is essential to any business. It is disappointing that there is so little communication from the staff.
Also, I requested NO BACON in my food and was served bacon. She didn't even make sure the cooks didn't put any bacon in my meal. I packed the food in a to-go box for my husband, as bacon is not a concern. It was disappointing that my options for food were limited to just mac and cheese when I was hoping for more variety.
