The lunch menu is pitiful, but reflective of the food. The rock music playing on the stereo is deafening and has everyone screaming to talk so it’s like trying to eat at the tower of Babylon. No indication that there was an adult on premises. Just an overall bad experience

I don’t know if Ive ever buried a restaurant but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. we sent back 3 orders of grilled oysters because they weren’t cooked. After an hour waiting to get our food received parts of our order once again food was cold. the rest of our party NEVER received their order we finally gave the rest of our party some extra off our plates so they could have some food. Asked for the manager he “Well we’re busy but I won’t charge you for the food you didn’t eat” well I would hope so and “ill give you 10%off “ but they didn’t- I just paid the bill cause several in our party were pissed and was losing their cool and it was cheaper to pay the bill than to pay bail. God bless the little waitress girl (Rhyan?) she was trying her best but she could only do so much- the manager/owners poor attitude about our reflected on the situation. hire more people if you can’t hire then don’t pack your restaurant past the ability of your cook staff. Get a head chef that can get your food out in a timely manner and ALL at once. poor management/owner - questionable cooked food- we finally walked across the street and got a chicken strip basket from the festival vendors. DONT GO HERE

I got the Oyster Bienville and they were amazing! My server Maddie gave us a great experience with knowledge of the menu and drinks. We asked for a good whiskey and noticed they had a great new selection. Great job to the new owners keep it up.

Did not have a good experience Saturday night 9/7/24. Service was ok but when we ordered our drinks and I was watching the Bartender make a drink that had marshmallow cream in it and she starting using her finger to get it off the spoon not once not twice but three times, I canceled my drink order from the bar but I should have canceled my food order because it gets worse. ( never saw her wash her hands not one time.) The fried fish came out and tasted like it was right out of the river (muddy taste) still had the dark gray or silver strip on one side of the fish. Oysters did not look very good but I hate a few. Just say we will NOT be back. 2 out of 3 of us were up all night with stomach issues, so lets just say our 3 hour drive back home was not every good!!!!!

We just moved to the Natchitoches parish area and we have tried many restaurants. We ate here tonight, and it was by far the worse food and customer service in the whole entire area. I ordered the loaded baked potato with bacon and butter, and ask for the Fried shrimp To come on the side. The waitress said it was not a problem. When the food came out, it was all on top of the potato, she said oh I can bring you a plate. She then brought a plate and a little bowl that had cold pieces of bacon in it to put on top of my Potato. After trying a bite of what was supposed to be shrimp (my thoughts were maybe it is popcorn shrimp or cut pieces of shrimp) I found out it was not shrimp at all. It was tougher than chicken, so I’m assuming it was gator. She said oh they probably got it mixed up. I can get you some shrimp, I refused because at this point I lost my appetite for multiple reasons. Especially not even knowing what I’m eating. The grilled oysters my husband ordered was suppose to be an appetizer and came 10 mins after the rest of the food. He was not impressed and they did not taste very good. It really was shocking to see that on our receipt I was charged 16.99 for a loaded potato that was obviously sent out to me wrong and I couldn’t even eat it after realizing I was eating something I did not order. I would have been happier had she just charged 9.99 for the potato and took the so called shrimp off. I ordered pineapple juice w/ Malibu and it looked like watered down lemonade and tasted horrible. I get this drink every where I go and this is the worse. Bartenders need some direction. We will not be back. We did check the reviews before coming and should have listened to them instead of going anyways. If you are thinking of eating here, don’t.

Man I hate to write this... For YEARS we have enjoyed mamas oysters. Many times planning our visits to natchitoches exclusively around eating at mamas. But this is unfortunately coming to an end. Their prices have just become OUTRAGEOUS in general, but specifically considering what you're actually getting. For a simple lunch for 2 people, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 sweet teas and a 20% tip, our total came to a whopping $105 !!! For LUNCH! And we were far from ordering the most expensive items on the menu. The waitresses, who were probably college-aged girls, were extremely unpleasant, never once even smiling, just in bad moods, which wasn't a huge issue, but considering the enormous expense of simply having lunch there, you'd think at least you'd get service with a smile. The "fried pickles" were a single 50 cent cucumber, sliced into spears and deep fried which somehow merited a price of $11... the catfish was 90% breading with a paper thin piece of meat inside.... etc. Just not worth it anymore. And it's sad. I don't buy for a second that there is any "inflation" related cause for this, it's clear that someone has just decided to jack up the prices "just because". Very sad. We will be taking a break from mamas for the forseeable future.
Order seafood, the Steaks are NOT worth the price. I'll tell yea those Oysters any style are super delicious especially the Rock-A-Feller. This is a very worthy seafood spot on the river.

Our first time visiting. We just relocated to LA. I had the small portion catfish and fries (3 of the SMALLEST cuts of fish I've ever seen....like they fillet a gold fish), and my husband had the house specialty shrimp salad. My catfish had so many bones in it that I had to spit it out after chewing a mouth full of bones. I grew up eating a lot of catfish, and this was like a whole backbone piece they served me, not just a few smaller bones. My husband's salad had some of the shrimp peeled some were not. He bit into his salad only to pull the shell out of his mouth multiple times. Mind you, we were told the shell was removed, and they were "de- vained." Our waitress was so sweet, and I tipped her, but please be mindful if you order for your little ones! I'm not sure we will be back...quality is not matching the price, in my opinion. OVERLY PRICED when I say RUN ?♂️ do not waste your money!

HUGE props to the chefs and staff last year. However, we ate there again last night 30th June 2024 and it was bad. The staff brought us cold food and claimed it was because of backed up orders. Then why was the food cold? Whoever was cooking didn’t do the greatest job either… you get 5 stars from last year, but this year you get 1…and it took about an HOUR to get our food. Based on recent reviews, this business has went downhill. Either train people to get back to where this business was or fire them.

Had the swamp combo. The frogs legs, gator, and crawfish were perfectly seasoned and fried, they didn't even need any sauce or ketchup.
