This was not my first time at Mariner's.
I expected better. My girlfriend and I ordered filet mignon but that was not what was served. It was a different cut and they were both overcooked and dry. Very disappointed.
The shrimp cocktail was excellent. The crab bisque was such a tiny portion, and have had much better elsewhere. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is always very nice.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here this evening, and everything about the experience exceeded our expectations.
The atmosphere was absolutely enchanting—made even more special by a stunning sunset view from our table that created a truly romantic setting.
The food was outstanding. My wife ordered the Ahi Poke Bowl and said it was one of the best dishes she’s ever had. I went with the 28 oz Ribeye—enormous, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. Every bite was delicious.
Service was equally impressive. We were greeted by a charming young college-aged hostess, and our server was attentive, friendly, and very helpful throughout the evening without ever being intrusive.
From the ambiance to the food to the service, this was an exceptional dining experience. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a beautiful, romantic setting.

This is a beautiful surprise. The outside is adorable, somewhat humble looking…..my kind of place. The inside was the Wow! factor…..also my kind of place! Beautiful setting, beautiful sunset view, matching service, food so good. We are from Fort Worth with second home in Toledo Bend. This will be our dinner venue each visit! My regards to the owners and chef!

Food was just okay for the price. Lobster tail was hammered; very tough and dry. Seafood nachos were soggy and hard to eat because they were on flour instead of corn tortillas.
The killer of the visit, however, was the service. Our server had a large party of more than thirty (30). As a result, our server showed up at our table 4 times, to take the drink order, to take our appetizer order and deliver our drinks, to take our dinner order, and, 10 minutes after finished eating, to deliver our check. Until someone offered us boxes for our remaining food, no one else ever visited our table, we never received any more drinks, or even had our water refilled.
When we spoke to a manager we were given an excuse that two servers hadn't shown up because of a funeral. Tragic, but not the point. She said our server tended to get 'frazzled.' When I pointed out that, if she was going to take care of a 30 top alone, she shouldn't have been seated any other tables, the manager just glossed right over it with a couple more lame apologies.
My intention was to leave only a $15 tip - $1 x 3 visits (not counting dropping the check) x 5 people in our party. My wife convinced me to leave $50 since our check was over $300. Normally, even decent service would have gotten $80 to $90.
Might've given two stars had the manager not been obviously over her head. One server with a 30 top and 3 additional tables might have garnered at least a few trips into the dining room, but I didn't even see her more than a couple of times (not in our server's area) and the one time when we were speaking to her.

Nice place for the region. Service was a little slow but maybe they were short staffed. Dinner rolls eventually arrived but tasted like premade / frozen. We never received dipping oil or water refills. Lamb pop appetizers are a 5 star must! Overall dining experience was decent and food was good. Everything felt saturated with butter & cream which retracted from the seafood and veggies. Waterview was not lit up and the atmosphere feeling crowded and loud due to the large party behind us. Overall it is a nice semi formal experience but not exactly fine dining.

We enjoyed our time at the restaurant. The service and food were excellent. We plan to go back again next month.
Alligator bites and boudin egg rolls were delicious. Ribeye was on point. They were short staffed on NYE, had the owner running laps for a while and still delivered great service. Love this place for special occasions.
It's the best Natchitoches has to offer. Best view in town. Food is an A sometimes, and sometimes a B. Seems to have improved lately. Service is the best you can get from poorly trained kids. Little things get missed by management a lot, and that's the difference in a 5 star place and a 3.5 star place.

I arrived about 45 minutes early and was told I couldn't be seated until my reservation time, so I rebooked and was seated immediately. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The $28 duck (5 pieces) was overpriced and average. The poke tuna was the worst I've had—sweet chili sauce and spicy mayo, hard non-sushi rice, and a whole unshredded carrot. I ate only the tuna and left the rest.
The food was great, tasted amazing and cooked well! We sat on the patio and were the only table for a while. All tables around us were covered in dirty dishes and food for almost our entire dinner and it kind of ruined the romantic vibe we hoped for on our Christmas weekend trip. We like this place and will give it another shot next year. There's a big disconnect with the service at this restaurant, which is disappointing bc the food and atmosphere are both wonderful.
Very nice experience just a short drive out of downtown area. Arrived a bit earlier than reservation time and staff was very kind to make adjustments to accommodate us. Beautiful sunset view from dining room across the lake, excellent service and steaks were prepared just perfect. Will certainly dine here again and highly recommend after your stroll down Front Street.
Colin was an excellent server- very cordial, professional & personable. Our food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect- Since it was the first time we dined there- we asked for a seat with a view and were able to see the most gorgeous sunset. A most memorable & pleasant experience.
