this place is an absolute joke! the service is absolutely terrible, they lie about 2 for 1 margaritas in posts and the food is adecuate at best. save your money and go to ramerez!!!

This has to be the most gringo Mexican restaurant I ever ate at. The staff is amazing and friendly. The kitchen is fast and there is plenty of room to eat. Now for the food. My steak was unseasoned. Nothing, just like the bland potato salad my neighbor Karen makes. I do have to give them some credit. They said they would charge extra for the white cheese sauce, so I consigned myself to melted cheese slices. However, I got nacho sauce, which was better than I hoped. When my chimichanga came out, there was an onion slice on a bed of lettuce and guacamole,oh, and a remoulade sauce. The sauce reminds me again of something my neighbor Karen would do. My wife ordered the flautas, and she said it tasted like taco bell seasoning, and the happy plate didn't make our friend sing Sheryl Crow's if it makes you happy. Finally, I think they forgot to add the tequila to the margaritas.

Margaritas are good. Milanesa was good & tender ( no charro beans ) just refried beans at this establishment. My husband order the casa special ( $20 ) not pricey but really expected better. Meat was DEFINITELY TOUGH eventhough he asked for medium cooked. Our food took longer than 30 minutes. We finished our basket of chips/ margaritas and wondered when we would eat. The large party next to us ordered before us ( party of 8-10 ). They were served. They all ate. Chatted a while AND we still didn't receive our food !!!!? Waitress told us MANAGEMENT PUSHED our order BEHIND 3 other parties ????. 1st & LAST TIME ???

For Louisiana, this is good Mexican food. If you are form South Texas, well...you just aren't home and don't expect the food to be like you are at home. The building was clean, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great.

I read the reviews before going to Nicky’s. I went on a Tuesday evening and the place was pretty busy. That’s always a good sign in a small town. The food was some of the best Tex-Mex I’ve ever had! I lived in Houston for a year and I would rank Nicky’s food right up there with true Tex-Mex. I ordered the beef chalupas and it was delicious. You won’t be disappointed!

I was on my way back from New Orleans heading home to the DFW area when I was in need of some food. I somehow happened upon this place. Being from Texas, I wasn’t holding out much hope for exceptional Mexican food in central Louisiana, but I was incredibly surprised. The refried beans are amongst some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the Bistec Ranchero which was perfectly prepared. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, as well as the decor. If I lived near by, I definitely would be a regular.
