This is a tiny out of the way place that is worth trying. They have the best home cooked plate lunches. Anything you try there will not leave you disappointed. Ms Brenda is one of the sweetest kindest folks you will ever meet. She always gives you a taste of something to try.

Ms Brenda is delightful and the food delicious. Went for the first time today. Consider this a takeout restaurant there are a few tables but they fill up quickly. Ms Brenda fixed me a sample plate and everything was great. Fried chicken - crispy outside juicy & well done inside. Ribs - fall off the bone and delicious. Smoked Meat - full robust favor. Beef Stew - served with rice and wonderful. Mac n cheese- delicious Dirty rice - great Pork n beans perfect with a hint of sweet barbecue. Cabbage - perfect southern style with a little sweetness. If I lived here I’d gain 50 pounds. Can’t recommend it highly enough

Brenda, lawd bless her, is simply a blessing to many. Not only with her food, but with her affable, caring, and always giving back spirit. Her spot, if you're lucky to find a seat, is perfect for a lunch that will have you contemplating excuses for not returning to work! The menu changes frequently. Daily specials. The smothered pork steak is James Beard worthy. I usually get my plate to go. As with everyone else, after she serves you, you walk out with the precious cargo as if you know someone is gonna try to take your plate. LOL. Well, at least "I" do!

Brenda’s Diner offers several delicious dishes. The fried chicken, greens, and smothered cabbage are one of my favorites. Small, unique dining experience.

If you are in New Iberia, don't miss Brenda's. Great food, but more importantly, wonderful friendly people. If you go you will be back.
