Everything was good. I just wished the waffle would have been a bit more crispy.

After 2 years of not going to the Waffle House in New Iberia due to road work and other issues with the business modifying the kitchen for employee space went back just to see how the service and the food was going to be and my waitress couldn't remember anything I asked there and then she turned around and told me she wasn't listening so I didn't tip her cuz she feels like her job is not important.

I'd been here before years ago and hadn't been in a very long time because the food and service were lacking luster. My son wanted to go, and so we did, even though I was hesitant. Shay was our waitress, and her service was ABOVE AVERAGE for any waffle house I've ever eaten at before within a 100-mile radius. She was very pleasant and attentive to all of her customers, including my son and I. A customer came in with a peculiar and strange request of burnt toast. She made sure to get it just right. She was a real gem, and I will be back just because of employees like her. The food was cooked to perfection and above standard as well. The waffles were fresh, hot, and delicious, and so was the patty melt, eggs cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Whomever the manager is is doing an amazing job at turning this place around.Kid-friendliness: My son was with me, and the environment was pleasant and kid friendly.

Get the "All-Star," with the Pecan waffle, cheese in the grits, bacon fried crispy, two eggs over medium (I always order three, one egg white, soft scrambled with cheese), and a coffee. Then go home and take a nap. You'll thank me later. I PROMISE you will!

Rare Amongst Society

The last two times that I visited this location were awful. The first time the staff were arguing with one another about who would make my meal, my entire party got their orders wrong and by the time I had gotten my food, some of my party were done eating. On top of that, the cook didn’t seem to care that the entire restaurant was complaining. The second time, the lady who took my order was half awake (mid afternoon) and seemed like she was on drugs, and I ordered a two egg breakfast and an all star with no eggs. She gave me a two egg breakfast with a waffle and no toast or bacon. The order was completely wrong and when I made it known it was wrong and some was missing and asked for a refund, the lady instead blamed ME for my order being wrong, saying she gave me what I asked for, even though the receipt stated exactly what I asked for perfectly and they charged me for it. Safe to say I’ll just go to a different location the next time I want Waffle House.

Waffle House is never going to win an award for culinary expertise. They should, however, just for their grits. As far as I'm concerned, I cannot go wrong with a side of grits with my meal. I've given this a 3/5 because of the grits. The rest of the food is honest, decent, Southern favorites. The sausage patties are good, never dry, city ham is a nice size (country ham is pure sodium) and bacon is decent too. The sad thing about Waffle House is, in my experience, the cooks can't cook an over easy egg to save their collective a55es. No matter where I go, I'll order over medium as a CYA. More often than not I'll get the over easy I really want.
