Came in for restaurant week to give this place a try. Everything was delicious! And having just returned from Portugal I was looking for some authentic Portuguese food. I loved the Nola twist of the recipes. Very delicious. Staff was very attentive and helpful! Our glasses were never empty.

This is a mid-fine dining experience. Food was OK... not worth going to the CBD for IMO. I could also not like Portuguese food?Either way, I can't get past seeing 2 mice in two different areas of the restaurant.
The wow factor here is the amazing staff. Every single person who worked there was amazing, but everything else was lacking.

We had such a fantastic night out at 34. The food and service was world class. Our servers were outstanding. The cocktails and wine list were perfect. The food was spot on. One of my best dining experiences in Nola, and I’m a local. 5 stars!

An Emeril restaurant never disappoints! From the moment you walk in you’re transported to Lisbon. The staff was very kind and offered wonderful recommendations. I went with a large group and was able to sample several different dishes. The Paella was incredible - the squid ink was a group favorite. The drinks were equally just as good and the desserts (get the Flan!) were phenomenal!

Restaurantji Recommends
We visited Restaurant 34 for Restaurant Week and had an incredible experience from start to finish. Jared, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable, helping us navigate a menu full of bold, delicious Portuguese flavors. The salt cod fritters and tomatoes with pepper “nduja” were standout starters. We loved the piri piri chicken and market fish—both perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. The wine pairings were spot-on, and dessert (flan and chocolate cake) was the perfect finish.
After dinner, we discovered The Utility Room, a hidden speakeasy behind the restaurant. The martini (with a cheeky pun for a name) and a strawberry bubbly drink were amazing—fun, creative, and a great way to end the night.
Highly recommend for a full evening out—great food, great drinks, and even a little mystery.

My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at Emeril’s 34, a restaurant that effortlessly blends warmth, sophistication, and culinary artistry. From the moment we arrived—early, yet graciously accommodated before our reservation time—we were welcomed with impeccable service. The staff struck that rare balance of polished professionalism and genuine ease, making us feel as though we were long-standing friends of the house.
The space itself is a study in modern conviviality: expansive, airy, and centered around an open kitchen that commands attention without overwhelming. Even on a quieter evening, the hearth’s glow and the gentle choreography of the chefs drew the eye, promising an even more dynamic atmosphere on a bustling night. I found the hanging Iberico hams and other charcuterie to be both a visual and olfactory delight, lending authenticity to the room’s inviting character.
To commence our celebration, we were offered a delicate splash of sparkling wine—my wife opted for the rosé and found it lovely. I abstain from alcohol, and was delighted that the bar crafted a bespoke tonic that was refreshing, balanced, and thoughtfully presented. My wife’s Snowdog cocktail further showcased the bar’s skillful hand.
Our meal began with the Preserva—a beautifully composed tin fish offering that paired buttery Portuguese papo secos with sardines of exceptional quality, accompanied by bright pickled peppers and a touch of butter. A delightful prelude. The tuna crudo, however, was the true star of the evening: translucent slices of fish, so delicately cut they seemed to dissolve into the vibrant sauce beneath. It was a masterclass in balance and texture.
For our mains—served in a relaxed, tapas-inspired cadence—we enjoyed the seafood paella, a dish that reimagined the Spanish classic with a nod toward court bouillon, elevated by a silken lemon beurre blanc. The flavors were rich and nuanced, a satisfying journey for the palate. The wagyu steak sandwich (a delight revealed by our knowledgeable server) provided a robust, umami-laden finale to our savory courses.
We concluded with sweets: my wife relished the warm, citrus-kissed donuts, pairing them with a bold Mammoth Coffee espresso sourced just blocks away. I indulged in the Basque cheesecake—a generous, almost decadent portion adorned with strawberries and rhubarb—that, despite initial hesitation at its richness, I happily finished to the last bite.
As I write this, I remain pleasantly sated, already anticipating our return. Emeril’s 34 offers not just a meal, but a thoughtful, layered dining experience that honors both tradition and innovation. A worthy destination for any celebration—or simply an evening of culinary delight.

I really enjoy the happy hour here. I suggest going with an open mind and a group of people and trying several things. Happy hour is a good place to start to get a feel for the restaurant. The space is beautiful and different than other options in the area. Service could be a little better, it does not live up to other Emerils restaurants, but it is still good overall. Really fun place to try!

Our girls night here was excellent! Food was tasty, we loved the carafe drink service, and cost came out better than expected. Damien was our waiter and an actual angel. We had so much fun with him and he was so kind! All the staff we met was wonderful. I've never been to Portugal but loved this taste of their cuisine.
