Fantastic spot to eat at for breakfast, if you’re not wanting to leave the hotel. This restaurant is located on the third floor, directly across from the Vitascope restaurant! This is a brunch style restaurant that is open from 7am-10am, Mon-Sunday. (Those times are for breakfast only!) The food here was so good, that I honestly didn’t want to go anywhere for breakfast. They had everything you can imagine here, including building your own omelette and waffle! Not to mention a healthy authentic juice bar. Now there is a set price that is paid when you first enter the restaurant because it is buffet style that is around $27, card only!

Seriously, that buffet was the best! I should've snapped some pics. The choices, the price, and the location? I could've eaten there daily. 10 out of 10 for me

Good hotel bar. Drinks are quick, food is decent, service is great. Hung is the best bartender in the place.

They have very good atmosphere. The food for lunch is OK with salad and sandwich bar.
Options for vegetarians are limited to basic salad and some stir fried veggies.
Their deserts are good.

On purpose I’m not putting any photos here. That’s because wow this is very Instagram worthy with the beautiful displays of all of the incredible fresh items. The real treat here is perhaps one of the most ugly things you’ll ever see served: crawfish sauce.
They make this here from scratch, and it is perfectly balanced, not overly spiced, and you can taste every ingredient together. Try some of that on top of some eggs or your favorite biscuit and your in for a dream. As a bonus, the local Sausage is of course source locally perfectly.
There really is no need to go anywhere else to experience great New Orleans cooking. Of course the more famous restaurants have atmosphere. If your meals are just here at the Hyatt, New Orleans, you will be very, very lucky. 8 Block culinary team wins.

The breakfast buffet is world class and more than reasonably priced. I usually HATE buffets. But this one has very well prepared dishes that always look and taste fresh. Huge selection and options to suit any taste or preferences. Gourmet all the way to biscuits and gravy done right. Staff is super courteous and aims to please. I usually avoid eating establishments in a hotel but this Hyatt is the exception.

I stayed in the Hyatt for over a week and had breakfast there daily. In my experience, the price is not worth it. It is just a buffet with several options. There is no variety in coffee, and the coffee is terrible. The cups are dirty! And as well the dishes. The staff is really friendly, and they get you a clean dish/cup if you ask, but it was a bit disgusting that they didn't clean everything well at first. The omelet/waffle station is terrible; they don't know how to make an omelet, and they call a Belgian Waffle their dry dough in a waffle shape. Service can be very slow, so be ready to wait 10 min to be seated and another 10 to get a terrible cup of coffee.

This is a bar in the Hyatt Regency that is in the 3rd floor lobby area of the hotel, which is the primary mustering area for activities in the hotel. The bar is open to those walking through to/from the elevators to rooms or meeting areas. The bar has basic bites, lots of drinks with a full bar and they have service at the bar or tables too.It can get very busy and packed though. Service was friendly, but prices are typical for a hotel in a touristy area.

If you're seeking an exceptional dining experience in New Orleans, the “8 Block Bar” at the Hyatt hotel is a must-visit destination. While the food itself is undoubtedly delicious, it's Grace's outstanding service that truly sets this place apart. Even amidst the bustling atmosphere, she always finds the time to check on her guests, ensuring that every need is met with a genuine smile and friendly demeanor. Her ability to remember regular patrons and greet them familiarly is a testament to her dedication to providing a personalized experience. What makes Grace truly remarkable is her passion for her craft. She takes immense pride in her work, and it shows in the way she effortlessly navigates the busy restaurant, ensuring that each guest feels valued and attended to. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, Grace's infectious positive energy and excellent customer service will leave a lasting impression. The Hyatt hotel is truly fortunate to have an employee like Grace, who embodies the essence of hospitality. Her commitment to her job and her ability to create a welcoming atmosphere make the 8 Block restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in New Orleans. Oh, I asked her for a recommendation, as i was asking for a Calamari and she suggested a popcorn shrimp and the burger. It was fantastic and superb! I highly recommend giving it a try.

I want to truly thank 8 block for the most wonderful meal I've ever had in New Orleans. I guess I should clarify. My wife and I showed up to 8 Block and stood there for nearly 45 minutes waiting to be seated. After reaching a point of being tired of waiting we decided to leave and head down the road to Baronne Bistro where we had what turned out to be one of the best dinners we've ever had in New Orleans so thank you 8 Block, maybe you can send others to have a wonderful evening as well.
Overpriced hotel bar.
