Absolutely fantastic meal. Everything you eat here has been given the highest level of attention, so that even the seemingly simple dishes introduce you to unexpected flavors and perfect textures. It was a truly elevated dining experience.

OUTSTANDING modern Mexican cuisine in a hip and trendy environment without being trite or contrived.

The vibe exudes respectful hospitality and the food is beyond compare for that genre in New Orleans. It is apparent that the whole team is passionate about their craft, starting with the sister-team of owners and it is evident in every aspect of cusine and service.

DO NOT miss out on this spot!

Had the pleasure of dining here for the first time this evening. I had inadvertently made a reservation for bar seats, usually fine, but due to a recent surgery would have been very uncomfortable. Hailey, hostess, even though the restaurant was completely booked, managed to switch us to a table. Thank you, it made all the difference! The service was excellent, the ambiance relaxing, the food quite good. Really enjoyed the crab avocado sope and the carne asada, lots of flavors in the crab dish and the carne asada was seasoned perfectly. Will go back and highly recommend.

I cannot wait to go back to Acamaya. Without a doubt, it is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. We started with the Tuna Tostada, and although the portion was surprisingly small, it was easily one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The flavors were not only unique but also captivating.

The steak with avocado sauce was fine, but the arroz with clams completely stole the show. It was comforting, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Since the portion sizes are on the smaller side, we decided to order another entrée, and I am glad we did. The octopus was unlike any preparation I had before. It was charred and crunchy on the outside while remaining tender inside, and the spice level complemented it beautifully.

Acamaya is a place I will recommend to anyone who is willing to listen. It is inventive, memorable, and absolutely worth visiting.

As someone who dines out frequently and truly appreciates authentic cuisine, I must say the service here was flawless; absolutely a 10/10. The restaurant captures the essence of genuine Mexican fine dining. Being Mexican myself, I can confidently say that the flavors, atmosphere, and presentation transported me back to my home country.

We sampled a variety of dishes, each executed with care and authenticity, and they were nothing short of outstanding. The only dish that did not meet the same high standard was the carne asada, which unfortunately lacked flavor. That said, everything else exceeded expectations, making this place a standout option for anyone seeking a real Mexican culinary experience.

This was and stays my most disappointing experience from years of New Orleans dining.

Service was clumsy at best, impolite at worst.

Plates were nothing special (eg. Tuna Tostada looked great but smelled like overripe fish). Cocktails were ok.

It’s like they don’t even try, generally speaking.
