Oysters were small and expensive. The char broiled oysters were good but not the best in the area

Acme was referred to me by my Uber driver when I arrived in NoLa. As a life long resident, he assured me the food would be excellent and I was not disappointed. The Chargrilled Oysters were excellent! I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and shared her favorite menu items. Was a great lunch upon arrival!

I'm sooooo glad we listened to our Uber driver instead of chap gpt and came here. It was close to our hotel and that helped in that decision too. I was honestly dreading a bit about food in New Orleans. My first time here, and I knew food would be good.... But would also be rich, dense, fatty, etc. We ordered chargrilled oysters because that's what you're supposed to do. Not my fave. Crawfish ettouffee was another that seem to make sense, but that was my partner's dish. I ordered a fried fish platter. I typically prefer Hong Kong steamed fish, definitely not a fried fish type of person. But wow! The fish was so tasty, and it's not because of it being fried. It was just fresh, fluffy, not heavy, flavorful in itself without needing sauce to mess it up. So so good. Love the no frills service too.

Well I will say this is not the same oyster house I raved about 5 years ago
I put my order in for a dozen oysters and a Blue Moon draft beer. The keg would only spit out foam. I should have ordered a different beer. My oysters were ready to be served 5 mins after I ordered them but for some reason. The server went to the back for 15 minutes s and my oysters sat at the bar unattended. Another server who could have handed them to me was on her phone leaning on the smoothie bar the whole time I sat. Not a good experience.
Shame I always raved about this place.

As an Asian customer visiting here on a trip, I felt very unwelcome. The bartender ignored me, tossed napkins onto our table, and told us not to put personal items on the bar because it was “a place to serve food.” Even if that is a rule, the way she said it was unnecessarily rude. What made it worse was that she was smiling and being very nice to the couple sitting right next to us, but treated us with clear disrespect. She then only acted polite when asking for a tip. This discriminatory and insincere service ruined what should have been a good day of our trip. With so many other restaurants around here, I will not spend my money at a place that treats customers with such disrespect.

Despite this experience, I still left a proper tip—because I refuse to become like the person who treated us so poorly.

Acme is one of my favorite places to go in New Orleans. I am In love with there chargrilled oysters. They are saturated in herbs butter sauce. I love the cheese that they put on tops so delicious!!! Squeeze a little lemon and protection. The bread is also good. I recommend this place!!!

I went to Acme Oyster House by myself and noticed there were at least five open seats at the bar. The host told me to wait, which I didn’t really understand — then a couple of white customers walked in right after me, and they were immediately seated. That left me with a pretty bad first impression.

To be fair, the food and atmosphere were good, but honestly, you can find oysters of this quality at plenty of other places in New Orleans. The way I was treated when I first walked in really overshadowed the rest of the experience.

The food was good here. Found this place by accident. I loved the fried crab claws. Service was fast. This was a poplar place. They have grilled and raw oysters.
