One of our must stop places when we visit. The ocean sauce is amazing!

We had an amazing dinner experience here on Friday night! Our waiter (couldn’t catch his name, cute blonde guy) was absolutely amazing and so sweet! The mussel special and Pasta Oceana were delicious! Highly recommend!

Friendly, Cajun Italian spot. On the heavier side (cream, etc.) but it was all delicious with a great cozy and quirky ambiance. Fun spot with a dive bar underneath, you can hear light music playing from the band during dinner which helps remind you of the cool street you are on!

The food may be good but their staff are terrible. I arrived nearly a hour before their kitchen closed. Took ages before anybody spoke to me. Then I was told to wait to speak to the host as they were busy. After another long wait (over 25 minutes) the host barked at me that I couldn't stand there and come back five minutes before close.
Interestingly enough another couple that were waiting were really annoyed when a ten top was seated before them despite there name being before them on the list. When the gentlemen politely raised the issue, he was blown off quite rudely. They don't take reservations but the website says "First come, first served." Pity they don't honor that.
A simple "I'm sorry we can't accommodate you tonight" or even taking your name and number, which is normal practice would have been sufficient. Having one staff member tell you to do one thing and then having another pissed that you do that, is not a welcoming experience.

This place has some fantastic menu items and some not so much. The flounder is amazing, the steak wasn’t a favorite. Our server was great but she had a lot of tables so it took a long time to get food ordered, bill, etc. if have room for desert the chocolate cake is better than the lemon.

I can't say enough about this place. Rack of lamb was the best I've ever had.

This place is pure New Orleans. Took a minute to figure out where it was...up the stairs. Tiny seating area. The building is very rustic. Food was OK. Large portions.

Ok so I'm a snob when it comes to food, especially Italian. I ordered the chicken parm. It was very good. Not great. Lacked a bit of seasoning. Chicken was cooked really well. Just a bit more salt and pepper and a touch of sugar in the sauce. Now, I walked in late. So that's on me.
But what makes this spot amazing imo, is the atmosphere, character, staff and unique location. Scotty was an absolutely awesome host and server. The staff was incredible as well. Where in the world can you listen to a 10-piece jazz ensemble, grab a cocktail, hang on the street, shop for some local art and then bird dog a great restaurant? New Orleans. That's the only answer.
I will definitely return, no doubt. And I'll try the veal.

My review is more so for the owner, she is wonderful. We dined here and didn’t have the best experience, an off day for them . I’m not going into details because she made it right. She was very kind and understanding. I am confident she addressed the server and kitchen immediately.
Their chicken parm is my all time fav, it’s a staple and huge potion.
