Baby when I tell you AJ is ALWAYS 1 of my favorite favorite places to stop to eat when I come home! And baby trust me when I say I don’t play bout my food lol! When I come home I always have a list of places I want to eat at & AJ’s is always TOP 2 lol! Then after getting my wisdom tooth pulled, I was told to get something soft like mashed potatoes & salmon , it was like the Dentist was reading my mind. O and that Jazzy punch is always the star of the show! It’s the taste, food quality, portion sizes and consistency of service for me 🍣

AJ’s Jazzy Grill is a Black owned restaurant located on the infamous Claiborne st. They recently received a positive review from popular food critic Kieth Lee. Despite his review they were not experiencing the Kieth Lee effect when I visited. I ordered the Hawaiian Salmon plate which is served with mashed potatoes with cheese and green onions on it and broccoli. The salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection! I literally wanted to drink the sauce the salmon was in. The potatoes and broccoli were also very good as well. There was a wait for the food because they cook it to order but it didn’t take long. The customer service wasn’t bad nor good so nothing to report. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants to eat where the locals eat in the city.

You must visit AJ’s when in NOLA. Everything on the menu is full of flavor, even the cheeseburger! The crawfish dressing and pasta seafood had us wanting to go back a 2nd time to eat before we left. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Trying a restaurant reviewed by Keith Lee for the first time, he hit the mark with this place.
Lamb chops were really good, just a bit salty for me. They were cooked perfectly to a medium well temperature, moist and tossed in a sweet sauce. A little spice would have made it even better. The green beans served with the lamb chops were delicious!!
The stuffed shrimp seafood pasta was GREAT! We added crab meat to the pasta, and it was worth the wait. The stuffed shrimp were ok, it just needed a dipping sauce for me. It's 3 fried balls served like a side dish with the pasta.
Jazzy punch was extremely sweet. Not for me.
The wings were under seasoned and nothing amazing. Just ordinary.
Overall, We enjoyed the food. Stop by and give it a try. You'll be back.

This food was amazing. I had the lamb, loaded baked potato, string beans and salad. The lamb was soo tender and flavorful. The string beans were not overcooked and delicious. The loaded baked potato had cheese bacon and chives..yummy! There are a few tables and chairs but this isn't a traditional sitdown dining experience. BTW, let me not forget the jazzy juice! It was amazing, slightly sweet for me but still good.

I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting more flavorful food from this place - especially being that Keith Lee did a review of AJ's. I ordered the salmon plate, the steak plate, and the garlic Parmesan fries. Those garlic Parmesan fries are BOMB! My salmon lacked flavor, thank God for the sauce it comes with - that for sure saved it. I loved the broccoli (and I'm usually not a fan of broccoli)The steak was the same as the salmon, lacked flavor but it was really tender.
