The only reason I took a star off was for the lack of knowledge of dietary restrictions for gluten free. My celiac partner had difficulties talking her needs through with the waiter. Once we got past that, the food was wonderful.

This is a hidden gem in New Orleans. If you like authentic Greek food you MUST come here. It’s fresh, made from scratch daily and the most luxurious. Try the ouzo drinks, flaming cheese, pork belly yeero, and orange cake made with a decadent orange glaze. The service is amazing! Luka was so kind, gracious, informative. Please help support this business. You won’t be disappointed. There’s a million other Cajun restaurants…go Greek! Please!

Athenian Bar & Grill – A Must-Visit in New Orleans! My sister and I were visiting New Orleans and stumbled upon Athenian Bar & Grill while looking for a lunch spot. Jacob Salcedo completely won us over with his charm and hospitality, so we decided to stay—and we’re so glad we did!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Seriously, the food was out of this world, and the baklava was the perfect sweet finish. We left full, happy, and already planning to come back next time we’re in town.

From the moment we walked in, Jacob Salcedo made us feel genuinely welcome — he’s the reason we stopped in, and we’re so glad we did! His hospitality set the tone for the entire experience. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, the kind of place you instantly want to linger in.
The food was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and the portion sizes were very generous (come hungry!). Every bite felt made with care, and the flavors were truly authentic.
Huge thanks to Jacob and the Athenian Bar & Grill team for such a memorable meal. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Update - that's just ridiculous. My Service Animal weighs 40 pounds and stays under a table. You were clearly not interested in taking us in, so don't lie about this now. And on top of that - it's still against the law. After a full day in New Orleans with him you are the only one who denied access and I just was not in the mood to have the discussion. So I will let people know they should not go to your restaurant, especially when they have a service dog.
Original - Denied entry with my service dog what is against the law . Can't recommend it while we couldn't even try it. No I don't wanna sit outside. Disabled people do not go there they hate you.
Stopped for a quick appetizer and it was so good ordered a full meal. Attentive staff and delicious Greek food.

The food here is seriously legit Greek! We tried the sampler boards, the grape leaves, and the beans everything was top-notch and delicious. But, I woke up the next morning with the worst headache. I’ve had in a year and that only happens when I eat food that has MSG in it . And this was so bad there had to have been a ton of it, just a warning if you are sensitive to that. No one else in my group experienced any problems.
