Shrimp for appetizer my opinion was small my expectations was bigger in New Orleans and duck was tasteful but chewy I never eat that way

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been in. Too bad the chef is a POS.

Where do I start. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was beyond gracious and service was spectacular. The only reason I am giving two stars. We did the tasting menu. The food was over-imagined. Several very small bites that didn't even serve as a full dinner. The last dinner course the waygu beef was served slightly below rare. Inedible for us. One of us is a voracious eater that loves everything. Three of the bites that were inedible in our opinion. To top it off, we left hungry. The wine pairing was uninspired. We selected the premium wine. Not one wine that was served had more than 4.1 stars. We were each served a total of maybe three glasses among the tasting The restaurant was beautiful. The room LOUD. We couldn't hear each other. Even the server apologized for the noise. The price? That's what threw us over the edge. $805 for a tasting with a wine pairing. We left hungry and $350 for three glasses of MID wine? Nope. We left completely disappointed celebrating 30 years. $1000 with tip for the experience, 0/10 do not recommend.

I have been to August many times and it never disappoints. One of the most upscale dinning experiences in New Orleans. The food is always amazing and the service impeccable.

Fine dining establishment with delicious food. Update Sep 2024.
Wonderful experience on a Monday night captained by Jordan and supported by Lee. Great orchestrated service with the rest of the staff for the tasting menu. Looking to return soon for the fois gras, escargot, and duck main.

After living in New Orleans for three years now. This was my first time dining at August and it definitely won’t be my last. We sat at the bar and the bartender was the sweetest. She was conversational provided us with a few drink recommendations and gave us insight on the popular dishes. I started off with a drink I can’t remember the name of it but it had bluecoat gin in it and tasted very refreshing. If you are a fan of tuna you need to try the Bluefin Tuna Crudo. After finishing up our first order of the Bluefin we were convinced we had to order another plate and it was phenomenal. The second dish that we tried was the GNOCCHI "BLACK AND BLUE" it was amazing. I can’t remember the name of the shrimp dish but it had elements of gastronomy in it which was interesting.

We ended our dining experience with dessert a pecan butter cup. Overall, the experience was a phenomenal and unforgettable one definitely checking this place out again.

The service was phenomenal, the ambience was spectacular. The food was delicious but not the best I've had for the price range. The spirit-free drinks were very refreshing and the cocktails were good. It's very hard to get fish right and I thought they did a good job with the snapper so yes I would recommend.

We booked a table at August as a special treat for the last day of our Honeymoon trip to New Orleans and the whole experience was fantastic. The service was impeccable. They made us feel extra special and every single course was exceptional. We loved the whole experience and couldn't recommend it enough. Thank you for a very memorable evening.

The food was very good but not excellent. We frequently visit tasting menu venues around the world, and while this one provided a slightly elevated dining experience, it lacked the personal touches typically offered by most high-end restaurants. For example, they failed to note my dietary restrictions and made minimal effort beyond well wishes to make my wife's 50th birthday special, despite having been informed of these details in advance during prior communication with staff. Although the meal was priced lower than most of our tasting menu experiences, a $450.00 dinner is still significant and not an everyday occurrence. Such an occasion should be remarkable in the most positive way. Our experience at Saint Germain, another local venue, was far superior in terms of the overall dining experience. However, the back waiter, runner, and Maître d' at this establishment were exceptional.

Poorly trained staffed. If you are a fine dining establishment, it’s your responsibility to properly train your staff. It wasn’t that they weren’t being polite or trying. It was simply a lack of formal training.

We started our summer visit to New Orleans with a meal at this restaurant and it was a fantastic experience. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The staff was very welcoming and particularly attentive to our dietary restrictions for spiritual reasons, making sure that everything we ordered was prepared according to our needs. This attention to detail was a standout, unlike any other place we visited during our stay. What made the service even more unique was the specialization of the staff, for instance they had a specific waiter just for desserts.

The food was exceptional every appetizer, main course and dessert was delicious. Although it was the most expensive restaurant we dined at in New Orleans, the overall experience was thoroughly enjoyable and very accommodating. Highly recommend for a great dining experience!
