About Avo

Avo is a restaurant serving Italian food, known for its delicious dishes and welcoming atmosphere. The calamari and meatball appetizers are highly recommended, along with the Gnocchi, Rigatoni, and a pork special for the main course. The Affogato, an ice cream espresso dessert, is a must-try. The pasta dishes are flavorful and satisfying, but not overly large. The service is friendly and attentive, making it a good place for date nights, as it is neither too loud nor too quiet. Cocktails, including espresso martinis, are also worth trying. The inside is charming and cozy, ideal for a date or lunch. Parking is on the street, and reservations are recommended. The restaurant’s location might evoke some nostalgia, adding to its charm. The meatball appetizer was delicious and full of flavor. The beet root salad was an out of this world experience. The spaghetti side was very good. The chicken and vegetables main dish was the best moist chicken. The Caesar salad and the tiramisu were also enjoyed.

Food & service outstanding. Shout out to our server Nigel.

We read that Avo was the best Italian restaurant in New Orleans. That was the reason we chose Avo. We were not disappointed. Calamari was delicious, short rib Marsala was fork tender & the sauce was amazing. Shell pasta with pork/beef bolognese was like mama’s. I would definitely recommend Avo if anyone were to ask for where to go for Italian. Our server was also friendly & charming, so appreciative of our comments.
