Good venue to have a brew and hear music. Go there now.
Always a good time. Come for a drink and stay for the music. So many great local bands can be seen here. There was an incredible dumpling food cart out front last time
Legendary
It is what it is. Go dive or go home.
I went for an Open Mic night on a Tuesday and I really enjoyed it. A lot of very talented people in that part of town. They had a cash only bar. Will definitely go back.
Weird pseudo local vibes from the bar staff.
Tourists be warned, the neighborhood is sketchy.

No clue about the food because I've never asked for any, bartenders are great and it is the atypical New Orleans side street bar
Vegetarian options: There is no meat in beer so vegan and vegetarians are welcome.
Dietary restrictions: Liquor and beer, you're an adult.
Parking: Depending on what time you decide to go, there may be street parking but make sure not to block a driveway.
Kid-friendliness: No, not kid friendly. It is a bar.
Wheelchair accessibility: Challenging to get a wheelchair into the bar but once you are in, plenty of open area.

Although New Orleans has no shortage of bats, neighborhood bars are a special dying breed. We have witnessed far too many of them ditching their original art and gutting out their interiors to "upgrade" them and turn them into generic watering holes.
Thankfully, BJ's has retained their original dive bar appeal and neighborhood feel. All greatly enhanced by owner Ryan Scully's passion for local musicians that perform there regularly. Los Guiros, The Tom Paines, Lulu & The Broadsides, Leyla & Sabine McCalla, Louie Michot, Morning 40 Federation, The Iguanas, Mike Dillon, and many others showcase their talents in this intimate and beloved bar.
