Had appetizers here with friends. The bacon wrapped dates were absolutely amazing, along with the papas fritas. There was live music along with indoor and outdoor seating.

Just a damn fun place to catch some music and have an incentive, unnecessarily complicated cocktail 🍾

Bacchanal is a truly unique experience. There are two options for dining available. Self-service outside style or inside seated. We chose to sit outside and listen to some nice, live jazz music while enjoying a couple of bottles of wine and superb appetizers. This was in May, so it was pretty “warm” đŸ„”but they do have several fans to keep the air moving around. Parking is difficult so I suggest getting dropped off.

This place is exquisite. The staff is kind as well. They do live music, have great wine selection to choose from and they’ll even make your cheese board for you.

My gf had a great thyme picking out the finest wine cuz she’s a dime and we had a damn fine time

Love the vibes
Ez going laid back and full of flavor
The lights were right
This cheese was nice
And I’d love to come back and eat more olives and those darn potatoes were yuuuuuuhhhhmmyyyy

The atmosphere is great, but the wine selection is lacking. It’s a great place to share a bottle of wine with friends, though.

Used to frequent this bar and have a great time, always tip well and behaved. Recently went and was told “hope you don’t get mugged, don’t talk about your trust funds in front of our staff”. For reference we were discussing going to a rich school and knowing so many people with tons of money. That was insane

We were told to “not brag about our trust fund” and to “try and not get mugged” when leaving the bar after discussing the disparagement between us and our peers. Hearing this from an employee was startling and upsetting after tipping the staff over 20% and leaving well before closing time.

We happened upon this spot by chance -- we'd come the Bywater to listen to music at another spot, but it hasn't started. Luckily, we walked past Bacchanal, and they had everything we needed. The moment we walked in, an employee approached us and asked if we'd been there before, so he gave us the lay of the land. They have a large wine selection, a bar to order from on the second story, and a yummy looking menu (we had already eaten, but everything we saw come out looked and smelled delicious)! It's a seat yourself patio with a standing/leaning section for busier times. All the employees were friendly/upbeat and helpful. The music was terrific. I'm so glad we found this place-- definitely check it out!

I’m ok with noise and uncomfortable seating if the food is great. But it wasn’t. Pork chop was overcooked and the shrimp wasn’t great. If you like drinking fine wine and yelling across a patio table this is the place for you.

Amazing hidden gem tucked into a neighborhood in the Bywater. Great wine selection, incredible food, live music, wonderful bartenders. 10/10 no notes!

This place is a MUST GO!

The atmosphere, food and drinks are Devine!

Tucked away in a little corner you will find this gem with live music. Even though it is self service in some aspects, I like the concept. Staff and crew were really friendly. Had a staff member follow up on our order and within 30 seconds of him walking to the back, food came. Outstanding!

Ordered the bread and butter TWICE which came with a black garlic butter to slather on your bread. The saltiness of the butter and the taste had your tastebuds go crazy.

The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes it came with were excellent and seasoned well.

Also ordered the bacon wrapped dates and if that was all I ate this night, I would not have been disappointed. This dish is EXCELLENT and so tasty.

The chicken confit served with chickpeas was excellent. Chicken was moist and full of flavor. We didn’t have one bite of dry chicken.

The gulf shrimp was served on a slice of bread and full of flavor. Every bit was delightful and when all done with the shrimp. The bread was eaten with the broth it was served with and perfect. I only wish there had been more shrimp.

I will make plans to come back here just to eat here. With the live music, good food and drinks, I can spend a whole night here and enjoy the entire time.

If you find yourself visiting New Orleans, would 110% recommend coming to eat here.

My oh my. This place is the highlight of my bday/NYE trip. The food is *stellar*. We tried a little bit of everything—chicken confit, steak, gulf shrimp, bread and butter (twice!), bacon-wrapped dates. Holy moly—the black garlic & salt in the butter with the bread
.it was like little umami explosions going off in my mouth. Scrumped down the food so fast I had nary a thought about taking pictures. Hands down my favorite culinary experience of my trip. Excellent service and atmosphere as well. What a lovely way to spend NYE. Will plan another trip to NoLa just to come here <3
