I really enjoyed and can recommend the Conchos de Gallina, the Chicken Hen Stew.It is very tasty, I suspect healthy and the Chef/Owner himself came out serving the dish and opening the lid, which released a nice smelling waft of smoke.

I went to Baru recently. The food was pretty good but the drinks were just simple syrup on ice. They should test the alcohol content in their bar because someone might be stealing liquor and diluting the bottles to replace the volume. The reason I'm writing a review is because I feel like I was robbed and not just of alcohol. They just bring bottled water without asking if you want bottled water then charge $10 for 2. So $13 with tax and tip for water I didn't want or order. It's a dirty trick and they should be ashamed. I can afford it, but I didn't want it and it makes me angry to get robbed of any amount.

Excellent food that boasts a Latin and Caribbean flare. Everything is delicious, but if you're there for brunch I highly recommend the Skirt Steak skewers, Cuban Sandwich, Fish Tacos, Jerk Chicken Burrito, and Lamb Sliders. You can either sit inside or outside. The wait staff is very polite and accommodating. Perfect spot for brunch or dinner.

Came for dinner and it was okay. For apps we tried the tostadas with avocado and mushrooms as well as the papas bravas - both delicious. For the entree I ordered the yellowfin tuna in some kind of smoky adobo sauce. It was alright. The puffed rice or whatever on top added nothing to the dish. The non alcoholic passion fruit drink ($8) was awful. Full of pulp and way too sweet. Don't order it. Overall there are way better places to eat in the city and I wouldn't return. For tapas, head to Costera.

14 years later and I finally get to eat here again. Totally forgot about this place until I was scrolling on yelp and it popped up. Service was great and the food was freaking amazing!!!!!! It reminded me of why I loved this place. Cant wait to come back here.

One of the best meals I’ve had in years. Every plate was full of flavor and distinct from one another. The highlights for me were the guacabello (mushroom and avocado), fried oysters, and beef skewers. The ceviche was very good as well. We ordered flan and tres leches to finish - both amazing.Highly recommend!

This is one of our favorite places uptown in Nola. Especially for the fried oysters ?, they’re the best. It is easy to order a selection of small plates. One of these times I want to get the whole fried fish…someday.I’d advise getting reservations, they can be full on the weekends.Delicious food, great cocktails and friendly service. It’s an uptown treasure.

Amazing food and excellent service. I really enjoy Tapas, and while the Tapas menu was a bit on the shorter side, everything we had was fantastic. Three of us split 4 different Tapas and had the Hen stew. Their cocktail list was creative and tasty as well. A bit on the pricier side, but it was well worth it. Reservations suggested- we walked in on a Thursday night and were quickly seated in the last table available. Would have been worth the wait though.
