Cute bar with a side entrance as well as a hidden entrance in the Maison hotel. Drinks were creative and tasty. The interior design is interesting and a good conversation starter.

Another quaint yet dope spot to hangout with friends and try some drinks made by mixologist. Very creative. Cozy atmosphere. Seating very comfortable. Staff very nice and accommodating.

Fun unique experience slightly away from
The madness of bourbon

We were seated in an empty bar, and that did not mean we were served right away. Server did not even come to our table until we got up and checked with the bartender. Drinks were also not worth it. Old fashioned was probably the worst old fashioned three of us had in our lives. It tastes like ocean water put into cup with some Bourbon drips.

Racist staff. No need to visit.

Worst customer service ever and that’s all what you need to know

We had a reservation and arrived just a couple of minutes early. The bar was nearly empty — only a few tables were occupied — and we were seated right away at 4:30 PM. Menus and water were already on the table, so we expected someone would be by shortly to greet us or take our order.

Instead, we sat there for 20 minutes without a single person acknowledging us. No greeting, no check-in — nothing. What made it even more frustrating was what happened next: two guests arrived and were seated directly behind us 20 minutes after we had already been sitting there. Within moments, a server came over to them, welcomed them warmly, asked if it was their first time, and began taking care of them immediately.

Meanwhile, we remained invisible. The difference in treatment was obvious — and it wasn’t just about timing.

We are people of color, and every other guest being served — including the couple who arrived long after us — was white. It’s hard to ignore the racial dynamic at play here. What should have been a relaxed outing turned into a disappointing and uncomfortable experience that left us feeling excluded and unwelcome.

Even more troubling: while writing this review, I looked through others and found that our experience isn’t unique. There are multiple reviews — stretching back several years — describing the same pattern of poor service toward non-white guests. This clearly isn’t a one-time mistake. It suggests a deeper, ongoing issue that ownership has either chosen to ignore or simply doesn’t care to address.

If you’re not white, don’t waste your time or your money here. The environment does not feel inclusive, and unfortunately, the management seems unwilling to make meaningful changes. And yes — I’m sure this review will get the same hollow, copy-paste apology the others received. But the truth is, actions speak louder than PR-friendly replies.

A great speakeasy style bar in an old library. Excellent bartenders making craft cocktails. Fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended on any trip to the easy.

What a cozy little spot tucked away by Maison Metier. We randomly found this spot while walking through the area one night and saw a small alleyway with the name Salon Salon. The following day we were at Carousel Bar chatting with the bartender, Corey, who highly recommended visiting this place, previously known as Bar Marilou.

We had reservations when we finally went around 6 in the evening on a weeknight, but it didn’t seem necessary as there were still a lot of open seats. There was live music, but it was at just the perfect volume where we were able to enjoy it but didn’t need to try hard to hear each other chat. In fact, I could hear all the conversations at the next table.

The drinks were reasonably priced and made well. We ordered a Barbara Spritz, Vieux Carre, and Boulevardier. The same drinks were more affordable here than Carousel Bar, but at the same time didn’t quite punch as hard which isn’t a bad thing in this ambiance. We weren’t hungry, but wanted to try some food, and had the Pommes Pave which came with fresh creme and caviar - very crispy and surprisingly light.

The crowd at this establishment was pretty diverse. There were middle aged folks on one side of us chatting about work and personal lives, and young couples on the other side of us perhaps on a first date. We are sure glad we found this spot and will return next time in NOLA.

Phenomenal dinner here. The vibe was immaculate, almost like a tucked away speak-easy feel but with a super classy twist. The servers could not have been kinder and Tri was absolutely lovely! The fry bread, Brussels, goat cheese salad (there are fried cheese balls in the salad that are to die for), and Brussels were all out of this world. My server also recommended the butterfly house cocktail which was delish!! Got the toffee carrot cake to go which was a scrumptious treat. Would absolutely go back in a heart beat ❤️

Visiting from NYC, and while this speakeasy is cute, they only allow hotel guest to enter through the secret entrance. Fine. Then we went to the main entrance, as the front desk of the hotel instructed. Google shows that the bar closes at 1am, and the front desk didn't say that the bar was closed, however, when we got to the door, the host hand jestured and lipped that they were closed. It was just 12 am and completely packed. It would have been proper for her to come to the door and verbally say that the establishment was closed, but I guess, she just saw black people at the door and thought she didn't need to. I don't know..it appears that they only want white people in there and it's 2024 .. but eh, I guess we are in the South...... they need to either fix their hours online or address the issues at the door...they put a black person at the door and black people at the front desk...but it's clear.
