I used to love coming here when this was Bar Marilou. I felt very comfortable welcomed, and I could set for hours to listen to the live music. The bar was absolutely awesome! Tina was our server and she was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and really made our night enjoyable. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were spot on.

The only downside was that we were curious about seeing the hotel through the secret door, but the hostess was very strict/rude and wouldn’t allow it. It felt a little over the top, especially since we were genuinely interested in staying there.

Loved the prohibition-era ambience: dimly-lit red interiors, walls lined with books and tons of plush, classy seating! If you go in August take advantage of the ‘Coolinary’ offer of 2 drinks + 2 bites for $35. The cocktails were not too creative, but solid classics that were made and presented well. The entrance is the small ornamental black gate to the left of the grand Mason Métier entrance - easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, which adds to the allure.
