Absolutely incredible. Among the best places we ate in NOLA.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food was extremely mid for how overpriced everything is — nothing special at all and definitely not worth the price.

The service made it even worse. The staff came across as rude and dismissive, and the hostess in particular had a really nasty attitude from the moment we walked in. It felt like we were inconveniencing them just by being there.

For the prices they charge, you’d expect at least decent service and food that stands out, but this place delivered neither. There are plenty of better spots in the city that actually appreciate their customers. I definitely won’t be coming back.

The food was delicious - highly recommend the hot chicken sandwich and cat daddy biscuit!
Important to know that there will likely be a 30-45min wait to be seated - you have to put your name on the waitlist once you arrive.
Unfortunately, after we were seated, we ordered our food quickly but had to wait almost an hour for our food to arrive. It came hot, but we had to wait soo long that the experience was a bit ruined. Even more, after we gave our card to pay the bill, we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our card back. Our server didn’t come to check on us at all, and we had to ask for an update on our food after 45 mins of waiting. The service was quite poor but food was good so I might recommend to try once - but I will not be returning.

The breakfast potatoes and the cheese grits are life changing. It will absolutely be the best part of your breakfast. However don’t expect to be waited on at all. Someone will take your order eventually, you might get your drinks before your food arrives and I hope you don’t have any plans after you’re done eating because the check isn’t coming anytime soon. Nor are they coming back to pick up your payment anytime before lunch.
Is the breakfast worth the awful service… if you’re not in a hurry then yes absolutely. It’s so good. Also be ready for an automatic 20% gratuity regardless of how bad the service is.

this restaurant came with multiple recommendations, so we were very excited to try it when we visited New Orleans. Upon getting there, we had to wait a little, no biggie, but then they told us our table was ready but we still had to wait off to the side which I found odd. I don’t think the host wanted to make more than one trip up and down the stairs where we sat but whatever.

Anyway, I got an iced latte and my boyfriend got an Irish coffee which was a very tiny cup that costed $15, he found that to be a little excessive. We got the crab dip as an appetizer to split which was a whopping $21 but it was a big skillet worth of dip so I felt that to be kinda reasonable, but still pretty pricey. I got the breakfast biscuit sandwich for $7 and it didn’t come with any side, whatever, and my boyfriend got the bearcat breakfast which came with two tiny slices of bacon, two small eggs, a very small side of potatoes, and we added a side of fruit for his total of $15. I just feel the portion sizes did not reflect the amount of money we spent in total, which is the main issue that I’m going to tell yall about in the next paragraph.

Our total, for just two people to eat breakfast, was $96, I feel that is absolutely insane. Upon looking at our receipt, our total automatically included 20% gratuity, which we were not made aware of at all prior to receiving our bill, and mind you, we were just two people! Also, they charged an employee care fund fee, and I feel like if yall have to charge the customers for that, it tells me the company is not properly taking care of their employees behind the scenes. I understand for bigger parties you have to include gratuity, but for two people on a random Sunday? No way. Unfortunately, as good as the food was, we will not be returning.

Overall the quality of the food here is quite high. But what really is underwhelming are the portion sizes. Simple fact is plan on leaving hungry after spending $90 on breakfast. I had the bearcat breakfast which comes with only 2 eggs 2 slices of bacon and maybe a fist sized portion of potatoes for $15. Add pancakes or fruit and it’s an additional $6-8 for either so your breakfast is going to be $22. I coupled breakfast with an Irish coffee being only 8oz I’d think it was a reasonable $8, haha funny that was $15. Overall the little quality they have it overshadowed by their lack of care for portion sizes which in a city like New Orleans is a crime to leave feeling hungry. This place really is a definition of over hyped and underwhelming performance so please save your money and try ruby slippers next time.

Looking for the best breakfast in New Orleans? Bearcat has it, great atmosphere, cool patio, and awesome food. The steak eggs and the crab scramble were great and they have a great selection of lemonades.
