My husband has talked about this restaurant for months and insisted we try it. The food was delicious BUT its hard for me to fully enjoy a meal when it's so spicy hot. I've never had Asian food that was consistently hot.I intend to give them another try because the staff was friendly and I saw the potential of the flavors. I'm hoping there is a true non spicy hot entrée on the menu.Parking: New Orleans street parking, need I say more?

Truly an amazing experience start to finish! Love my Chinese food I’m St. Louis, MO but this place kept my jaw on the floor. Huge portions, phenomenal spicy and flavor, along with expertly made drinks that are strong but do not make you choke on the hard liquor taste. Adding this place to my repeat restaurants when i do my biannual Nola trip with friends and family. Also right next to Fat Boy Pantry which has amazing homemade ice cream with super unique flavors to top off the meal!Vegetarian options: The kung pao rice cakes were literally a meal in itself and they have several other vegetarian optionsParking: East street parking off and on magazine street

New-style Chinese food in a gentrified setting. Fairly expensive, but quality.

Best “Chinese” in New Orleans. Don’t expect traditional Chinese food.

Pure Southern Chinese food. I sat at the bar in this great little spot and took the recommendation of the bar tender for the egg roll and the Dry Chili Chicken. The egg roll was handmade and tasty with a trio of sauces. But the star of the show was the chicken! It came out as deliciously southern fried bite sized pieces of thigh meat covered in sauted peppers, dried chilis, and chili oil and a bowl of rice. This was just the satisfying fusion blend of southern and asian flavors I was searching for. If I did over again the only change I would make would be to get a veggie to go with the chicken.

Absolutely phenomenal! We’ve been dying to go here and it exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, service was great, cocktails were good. Already wanting to go back and try different items! Loved the touch of the New Orleans special fortune cookies at the end as well!

The food was decent for a Chinese-American restaurant but the overall feel of the place is confusing. The sides were better tasting than the actual dishes we got. Both of us ended up using the sides to flavor the rice we got. I don't believe in sending food back but I wish I could've had a talk with the big guy who was running the pass but he was doing his best to keep food rolling. I doubt I'd be quick to put this place into a regular rotation but I wouldn't be against eating the shrimp wonton appetizer again.

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I had the crispy beef, which is is kinda like Panda Express’s Beijing beef but don’t be fooled by this comparison, the only similarity really is the fried breaded beef strips. Shoot even the the chick-fil-a cow would feel honored to be turned into this dish! So fresh and flavorful, wow!

This place gave me the BEST Chinese food I have ever had.The Dandan noodles are spicy, packed with flavour and are so so delicious. If you can tolerate spice and want to blow all other Chinese food you've ever eaten out of the water, you're in for a good time!

Finally made my way over to try Blue Giant. It was a great experience. The vibe was right and the food hit the spot. My glass of water was refreshed often and several servers checked on us throughout the dining experience. I'm glad my coworker was up for trying this place out with me tonight. I'll definitely return.

Blue Giant is the greatest Asian restaurant in New Orleans, and in my opinion one of the best restaurants in the city. Every dish is incredibly creative and packed with flavor. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is incredible as well. It is a little pricy, but the food and the experience are worth every penny. Be sure to make a reservation since this restaurant fills up quickly.
