My party and I stopped by for a quick snack and drink. We ordered the crab claws which were delicious. The tavern had a nice classy atmosphere as well. Service was fast.

Honestly, I was just let down. We went to the sister restaurant and it was fantastic a couple of weeks before “Lilette”! I expected the same from Bouligny, we started with wine and drinks and they were very nice- well put together- the wine was recently opened and the waiter suggested a great class. Now here comes the “uh-oh”. We ordered the meat and cheese board with everything on it, coming out to 40$ we started with wine and drinks and they were very nice- well put together- the wine was recently opened and the waiter suggested a great class. Now here comes the “uh-oh”. We ordered the meat and cheese board with everything on it, coming out to 40$ which I don't mind if it's good! So subpar- bread reminded me of when I was a kid and I got jawbreakers in my Halloween basket. CRUNCH. I was nearly about to break a tooth on it. I don't know the board was very basic and unimpressive. Then a couple of days later I went to Toups and got their charcuterie board for 35$! INSANE! It was so good and well put together -” meat platter” house-made meats and liver pate. Anyway back to Bouligny, I ordered the duck confit for my dinner. The duck was cooked to perfection! No complaints there- incredible- if only it had more food and it was paired with a better side than a salad. Possibly a potato au gratin? Just my opinion. Also, the burger is BOMB. Everything you could want is very yummy. The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. Such a good time with my friends. I hope that Bouligny can step up their bar food game and give out what they are asking for in terms of cost. I am not being unrealistic if other restaurants are doing it cheaper and betterhich I don't mind if it's good! Really impressed with the quality of drinks, food menu and great service here. We sat outside and enjoyed the courtyard!

WARNING ‼️ Walked in and a white lady with red hair greeted us with a straight face. We asked to be seated outside and she took us to the back of the building where it was empty (out front was nice and lively) when we told her there was a table available up front she said “there’s nothing available, I just checked” then begrudgingly walked back out front. Almost threw the menus on the table she sat us at and walked away without saying anything. My partner and I are black and Hispanic. Just such an awkward experience, laden with implicit bias. We left before a server even got there. 0 Stars.

The burger was absolutely amazing! However, when dining with a large group, we were disappointed to find they made a big deal about not allowing us to split the bill—definitely not ideal. On the plus side, the interior is stylish, and the patio is a great spot to enjoy a meal. The restaurant seems to cater to a more upscale crowd, with a focus on a well-dressed cliente

Lovely mid-century inspired bar/small restaurant, quality craft cocktails and wine list, the beer list is passable but it's not a beer bar.

Great place. I've been several times always great service and atmosphere. We didn't eat much, just crab claws and fries while having drinks. The food is really good. Give them a try!

Bouligny Tavern is quite a unique place on Magazine in the Touro area above Garden. A perfect place for small plates and cocktails rather than a sit down multi-course meal. Plenty of well-crafted plates on the menu to make and share a meal. The atmosphere suits the intent here, quite beautiful, dimly lit, a few small tables, outside in front. From the well-crafted cocktail menu, my first was the Black Sunshine - Black & White Rum, Falernum (my fav tiki mixer), Bittermans Tepache Liquer, Pineapple and Lemon. Jumping ahead, my 2nd was the !Viva Zapata! - Jalapeño-infused Tequila, Mezcal, Lime, Grenadine and Angostura. As spicy as it was smoky (not everyone's thing). For small plates, my first was Blue Crab Claws, opting for the butter/garlic/herbs alternative at the solicited rec of the bartender. Next small plate was the Beef Bourguignon Bruschetta. Savory and slightly sweet, quite wonderful flavors packed into this somewhat heavier of the menu options, suited me well at the time. Wasn't planning on dessert, but coconut cake was a good finish. In summary, Bouligny is a great upscale cozy romantic bar scene for a couple or group of 4 max. Highly recommend, will return often.
