The music was loud and the genre was angry Punk rock which did not lineup with the restaurants feel. It would be more in line with a concrete warehouse where people are body slamming. The restaurant had 30, 40, 50 something’s and as a pro DJ with 38 years of experience and reading the room I can tell you no one was enjoying The bartenders music selections. I complained to our server about the music and I watched our server bring it to the attention of the bartender. Her name is Mason and she hates her job. She might hate all people. She loves very angry music so maybe she is angry. After I got a smirk smile she turned the volume up. Who in the right minds would permit Mason to be in charge of an entire restaurant music with such angry punk rock? We endured for the next hour where the music never changed. After paying the bill I complained to the manager. He said he didn’t like the music either and yet he permitted it? After reading several other reviews I could see that this place is going downhill fast and it’s based on leadership or lack there off. There’s a lot of attitude problems with the staff and in the restaurant industry it’s all about service. Especially in the incredible city of New Orleans. There are far too many establishments in New Orleans to put up with bad attitudes and angry punk rock.

My party and I stopped by for a quick snack and drink. We ordered the crab claws which were delicious. The tavern had a nice classy atmosphere as well. Service was fast.

Honestly, I was just let down. We went to the sister restaurant and it was fantastic a couple of weeks before “Lilette”! I expected the same from Bouligny, we started with wine and drinks and they were very nice- well put together- the wine was recently opened and the waiter suggested a great class. Now here comes the “uh-oh”. We ordered the meat and cheese board with everything on it, coming out to 40$ we started with wine and drinks and they were very nice- well put together- the wine was recently opened and the waiter suggested a great class. It was so good and well put together -” meat platter” house-made meats and liver pate. Anyway back to Bouligny, I ordered the duck confit for my dinner. The duck was cooked to perfection! No complaints there- incredible- if only it had more food and it was paired with a better side than a salad. Possibly a potato au gratin? Just my opinion. Also, the burger is BOMB. Everything you could want is very yummy. The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful as well. Such a good time with my friends. I hope that Bouligny can step up their bar food game and give out what they are asking for in terms of cost. I am not being unrealistic if other restaurants are doing it cheaper and betterhich I don't mind if it's good! WARNING ‼️ Walked in and a white lady with red hair greeted us with a straight face. We asked to be seated outside and she took us to the back of the building where it was empty (out front was nice and lively) when we told her there was a table available up front she said “there’s nothing available, I just checked” then begrudgingly walked back out front. Almost threw the menus on the table she sat us at and walked away without saying anything. My partner and I are black and Hispanic. Just such an awkward experience, laden with implicit bias. We left before a server even got there. 0 Stars.
