Buttermilk Drop Bakery in New Orleans is a true gem, perfectly capturing the nostalgia of McKenzie’s classic pastries. The original buttermilk drop, along with creative variations like lemon and chocolate-covered, are crafted with excellent quality and flavor. Located in the heart of the 7th Ward, the warm neighborhood atmosphere adds to the feeling of being home. Each bite transported me back to Sunday afternoons of my childhood, evoking cherished memories. Super friendly team and yummy baked goods. They were nice enough to custom make a king cake for us before we left town. The whole family enjoyed it immensely! The apple fritters are enormous and tasty too!

**Review for The Buttermilk Drop Shop**

The Buttermilk Drop Shop is an absolute delight! Their buttermilk drops are simply scrumptious offering a wonderful variety of flavors that make each bite a treat. In addition to their signature cake donuts they have an impressive selection of other donut options that cater to every palate.

But it doesn't stop there—their home-cooked breakfast is incredible! Every dish is made with care and you can taste the love in every bite. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a sweet treat this place has you covered.

The atmosphere is equally inviting thanks to the engaging and entertaining staff. They create a warm and friendly vibe that makes every visit enjoyable. If you're in the area The Buttermilk Drop Shop is a must!

The food was decent. I loved my French toast sandwich. We had a pretty big order, others complained about the pancakes being thick. The young lady at the register customer service skills is awful!!!! We went around 11 am on a Friday and they were already out of A LOT stuff. We were just visiting from Texas, and that place was recommended to us. We would not recommend that place to the others.

Went in to Order a croissant breakfast sandwich , and two breakfast plates, got my food , no croissant. Went back in the store told cashier I asked for a sandwich, he stated I’m refunding you, ask why he said that he said cause u didn’t get your sandwich. Then he tried to ring me up for two more I said I only wants one. Cashier hands me my food and told me I’m stealing. Then comes out the store to fight ! After telling me I was stealing. How can anyone steal if you are refunded me my money ? Based on an order you made a mistake
On!!!! Call to speak with manager the number is a none working number ! I was giving a email to contact manager haven’t gotten a response yet! I was also over charged on the breakfast sandwich. Horrible customer service! Those kids in there dont know what they are doing. It wont be long before they do it to the wrong one!

Food is great but they never have everything. For example They say breakfast ends at 11 but the person on the grill leaves at 10 so basically the entire breakfast menu is over at 10. They have never had croissants and I go there at least 3 times a week. Overall the food is great in my opinion they could just do better with providing the things they have advertised on the menu when you walk in.

I am sorry because I love everything about buttermilks. I eat breakfast from there at least twice a week. Whoever is making the omelets needs to be given other responsibilities. Today was the second time in a row that my new orleans omelet is completely burnt. What I don't understand is I was the only person in the lobby waiting on food. So being in the weeds is ruled out. It's so unfortunate that my breakfast turned out the way it did especially paying 15 dollars for it.

A long, long time ago, when Clark High School was still a thing, I would eat buttermilk drop. I ate their breakfast rice and never forgot about it. Almost 10 years later, I finally said I needed to stop back in. Breakfast rice was everything! Just like I remembered it. The ladies behind the counter convinced me to get a biscuit because they were fresh out of the oven. HOLY SMOKES WORTH EVERY CALORIE.
Also, all the ladies working there were cute and sweet.
All in all, I will be getting thick from buttermilk drop.

Went into the bakery side and was promptly and courteously greeted by NeNe who was super sweet and very informative. We got one of everything! Was not disappointed. Now, the food side is a different story. The vibe was completely different and they were out of most breakfast items pretty early.
