Mixed first experience. Came in starving after helping my friend move and get settled in their new place. Ordered drinks and tried to order food even though the cook hadn't shown up yet(late). The grapefruit IPA is the best beer I've had in a long time. Good flavor without being sweet or overly hoppy. Absolutely inhaled the crawfish nachos which tasted as good as they sound. Not a whole lot of cheese, but the concentrated crawfish gumbo stock sauce was a big hit with the fried wantons, hence no pics. But as I had to get back to MS the rest of our meal we got Togo. The fries were delicious, fresh and hot. I didn't get a chance to eat my sausage dog until much later and the bun had become a little hard. It was still good with the pickled onions and beer cheese. But after we paid and left, we discovered we had been charged twice on separate cards. I would come back for the IPA and pay cash next time.

If you want a solid brewery with a full bar, look no further than Bywater. Everyone here knows their stuff. The brewer executes all styles with precision. Czech Lager, spot on. All German styles, bocks, helles, marzen - dynamite. IPA's both hazy and west coast - delicious. Definitely worth the trip from downtown.Mandy the bartender/CPA can definitely help you choose something if you don't know what to order. Kitchen runs a small, but well curated menu. Beer cheese is what you will wan to add to just about anything you order here.Trivia nights on Monday's. Great effort here to put forth quality beer and food.

We love this place, and have been several times. Excellent brews, and my favorite is the Bare-Knuckle Brew (west coast IPA) with a giant pretzel. The burgers rank among the best in New Orleans, and I highly recommend the Bacon Beer Cheese Burger. The Chicken Caesar Wrap is also superb. Conveniently located on Royal St, it's close to the historic location where Homer Plessy boarded a train and was arrested because of the color of his skin, leading to the Plessy vs Ferguson Supreme Court Case. Add the Bywater Brew Pub to your list of great places to grab a burger and a brew in New Orleans.
Vegetarian options: Great salads, and the Namburger is a portabella mushroom option.

I'm giving this great review cause I just saw the Owner on TV, and I must say I live in Washington State, so I can't be there to support you physically, but this is how I can show my support go go

Grabbed a Royale with cheese and a couple of beers before resuming my bike ride. Big place, clean and new. I'll be back.

Try the Stimulus Czech. Also had the sausage dog on pretzel bun. And my buddy really liked the burger. Gotta go back to try the large pretzel appetizer that comes out on a hook stand.
Great stop in the French Quarter. Little gem!
