Haughty and VERY Unwelcoming to Solo females — gay OR straight. A wasp nest. In the French Quarter there are HUNDREDS of sweeter choices for Southern Hospitality. If you’re a Single diner you will Not be welcomed. Because Cafe Amelia is so close to my hotel I tried them two mornings in a row – they failed at elegance on both occasions.

Hostess was OUTSTANDING. All recommendations fantastic. Short ribs perfect. Mussels & cappuccino great. Definitely a repeat. Other reviews were .us leading. Eating outside *****

Good location, building has the standard NOLA charm, hostess was A+ accommodating, but that's about where the good times end. Coffee was dark and full and I get its supposed to be a French roast, but it was burnt. No worries, happens and it's later in the day (came for brunch).

The wait staff was relatively attentive- no complaints yet. But when the food came out, that awkward silence of "oh" fell over our crowd. 4/6 of us got the chicken and waffles, and in my long 26 years of life, I have never, ever, even remotely considered GRILLED chicken to be used in this dish. In a city that has no issue frying everything to death. We were nothing short of mortified. Flavor was good with the gravy, but the fact it was room temp/slightly below combined with the watered down syrup created a culinary experience I do not wish to replicate. Everyone shared the same sentiment. The others who got Benedicts both commented on the remarkable "okayness" of it. One said his meat felt like it came from a can.

It got the job down, and we are all 20-somethings guys from the Midwest, so we thanked them and went on our way. But added to the bill was a gratuity that was different than what we may have used. Never heard of a built in 20% for a party of 6. +8? sure. Also not an option to split bill. Seems common in NOLA but wanted to make note of it here.

Just overall okay experience. Would/will never go back.

Felt compelled to write a review based on the stark contrast between our reality and the present in these 1500+ reviews and comments.

Definitely worth a visit. Their chicken and waffles are the best I've ever had. I love that they used roasted chicken rather than fried and the cajun flavor with maple syrup complimented each other so well. We also enjoyed our cocktails and the atmosphere.

We visited Amelie’s for lunch August 29th. Our server asked if we were in New Orleans for any special reason. We said yes it is our anniversary. After our lunch, I asked for our check. She said she had something for us. She brought out a desert with a candle…which we thought was sweet for them to do. When we got the check, we were charged $13 for that cheesecake we didn’t order.

The food was very good…but don’t tell them you are there for any special reason. We won’t be back

Forget about Mondays and Neyows and all those other establishments trending on social media. This was the best meal I’ve had in New Orleans by far! And the ambience was the icing on the cake. I will be back.

Good is amazing. Music is WAY too loud. Our server was TERRIBLE… Grace. We had to wait and wait for her attention when there were only 4 tables occupied. It was my wife and three daughters and they added a 20% tip automatically. Very rude. Will never be back.

5 star service & amazing food!!!

Had a brunch here, such a cute place! They serve quality of food & their service is super good. Please try their basque cake and thank me later! P.S: the only thing I did not like was my coffee. It was smooth, had a nice texture & taste. However, the cup was not full, so it was not enough for me.
