Food was really good, but their grits were the best I've ever had. Mind you, I grew up in New Orleans.

The service was excellent, but unfortunately my eggs Benedict weren’t very flavorful… I felt the food was a bit generic.

Excellent chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and biscuits and gravy. Whew!
We came here during a convention. The people from the convention overwhelmed the poor staff but they did a FANTASTIC job. They hustled, delivered food ASAP, worked hard, and we're kind. I'm sure they just put their head down and pushed through but I want to commend the staff on their hard work.
The food was delicious and so well priced. It was a great option for our group and I recommend trying it out. It's also fun to watch the trolly go by.
I regret not asking the staff their names; but I want to tell you guys, thanks for working hard. No need to be disappointed. You did a great job. Thank-you for your hard work and service.

Stopped in to grab lunch to-go and the restaurant was completely dead. I ordered a turkey and ham sandwich with fries. One of the cooks was not in that day and they didn’t have the entire menu available.

Don’t just walk away from this place but RUN far away. Visiting New Orleans, this place came in as a recommendation and was so eager to try it. We were greeted by 3 employees when we walked in and were told to pick a seat anywhere since it was pretty empty around 1pm. Only 4 tables were occupied and 1 gentleman at the bar. The woman who dropped off the menu sort of threw it on the table and made no effort to make an eye contact. Waited about 15min for a server to come take our order who was tending to other duties. Again no acknowledgment of us being there - not a single gesture of “we’ll be there with you shortly.” Meanwhile 2 employees didn’t have any tables to attend to.
Finally a male waiter came adjacent to our table and addressed us in a stand offish manner. He had his body facing away from us and asked “did you guys figure out what you gonna order?”
We weren’t given any name, not a single hello.
The only explanation that I can think of is discrimination due to our skin complexion from the two available employees. Or maybe both of them were just having a crappy day. Needless to say, we walked out of there. Well wishes to both of them.

Very nice and cozy place. Great food and tea. Food is also placed at a good price.

Quick kind service. The grits are what you come here for. Biscuits left me sad.
The food is delicious! 😋
The crispy artichokes and shrimp bisque were excellent as was the rest of my meal - grilled veggie sandwich with sweet potato fries. I would recommend this place - very friendly staff.
Stopped in for a late breakfast. I had the half order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy and good. This cafe is attached to the Blake hotel.
Our group of 8 adults spending a week in New Orleans for a family reunion stumbled on Cafe at the Square by chance for our first breakfast in the city. Had such a good experience that we ate our next 4 breakfasts there and a dinner. Good location 2 blocks from several hotels. Relaxed, and one of the few restaurants we found that was quiet so we could converse easily. Great food, well prepared and we bonded with the staff who were relaxed, friendly and informal. The space is open and light, right next to Lafayette Square. They happily rearranged tables to seat our group of 8. Met the owner several times who jumped in, kept our coffee cups filled and gave great advice about things to do. Good variety of food and drinks. Prices were quite reasonable. Could get a good breakfast with coffee for $15-20, but could spend more if wanted to order some of their specials....
