Quiet location with a view of Lafayette Square. I shunned the busier breakfast spots and was rewarded with quick service, great coffee, and legit food. Had the chicken and waffles and finished every bite.

Cafe at the Square has an amazing atmosphere and eye-catching sketch portraits. I love the location and it's nestled around the nicer downtown hotels.

I ordered the Chicken & Waffles with OM Eggs. The chicken is seasoned to perfectly compliment the waffles and maple syrup. Great flavor, albeit the chicken is a little dry. It's a very filling breakfast. I'd order it again.

The service was friendly and polite. I enjoyed my experience and would eat here again.

Went for brunch on Sunday. Ordered fried green tomato Benedict it came with a choice of fried diced potatoes or grits…. It was very delicious, my only slight complaint was the poached eggs were overcooked- no big deal, just no run at all. Get the grits add some pepper jack cheese :) the fried green tomato with grilled shrimp was also amazing…. Shrimp very tasty. Then there was the entertainment 🤣 which is named David Smith(manager I think) Looking for some friendly sarcasm and heckling, go no further. Honestly he was a very nice guy. Would definitely recommend, and will be back for the free meal David promised publicly! 😉

I absolutely loved the delicious food I've eaten for breakfast and dinner. The hamburger was grilled to perfection, sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had, the seasonal vegetables were superbly grilled and the fresh garden salad with creamy Bleu cheese dressing. Corey C. was an excellent waiter who frequently checked on me and met all my requests. I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to let everyone know I found this diamond restaurant!

Food was really good, but their grits were the best I've ever had. Mind you, I grew up in New Orleans.

The service was excellent, but unfortunately my eggs Benedict weren’t very flavorful… I felt the food was a bit generic.

We came here during a convention. The people from the convention overwhelmed the poor staff but they did a FANTASTIC job. They hustled, delivered food ASAP, worked hard, and we're kind. I'm sure they just put their head down and pushed through but I want to commend the staff on their hard work.

The food was delicious and so well priced. It was a great option for our group and I recommend trying it out. It's also fun to watch the trolly go by.

I regret not asking the staff their names; but I want to tell you guys, thanks for working hard. No need to be disappointed. You did a great job. Thank-you for your hard work and service.

Stopped in to grab lunch to-go and the restaurant was completely dead. I ordered a turkey and ham sandwich with fries. One of the cooks was not in that day and they didn’t have the entire menu available.
