Quiet location with a view of Lafayette Square. I shunned the busier breakfast spots and was rewarded with quick service, great coffee, and legit food. Had the chicken and waffles and finished every bite.
Cafe at the Square has an amazing atmosphere and eye-catching sketch portraits. I love the location and it's nestled around the nicer downtown hotels.
I ordered the Chicken & Waffles with OM Eggs. The chicken is seasoned to perfectly compliment the waffles and maple syrup. Great flavor, albeit the chicken is a little dry. It's a very filling breakfast. I'd order it again.

Went for brunch on Sunday. Ordered fried green tomato Benedict it came with a choice of fried diced potatoes or grits…. It was very delicious, my only slight complaint was the poached eggs were overcooked- no big deal, just no run at all. Get the grits add some pepper jack cheese :) the fried green tomato with grilled shrimp was also amazing…. Shrimp very tasty. Then there was the entertainment 🤣 which is named David Smith(manager I think) Looking for some friendly sarcasm...
