Cafe Beignet, Royal Street

Terrible service and unappetizing food. The taste of the eggs is off and definitely not fresh. The oil for beignet’s hasn’t been changed and were inedible. Don’t waste your time.

If you are in New Orleans you need to stop here. Great beignets, and great hot chocolate! My kids loved it too, live music on the road right outside beautiful to listen to while you enjoy!

We visited the one Royal street for a quick morning breakfast and coffee. We are vegetarian so our options are limited in what we can eat, so we had their veggie sandwich, croissants, beignets, a cappuccino and a mocha. The food was alright, the beignets are a little messy but delicious.
The ambience is nice and they have both outdoor and street seating. They also sell spice blends and store merchandise.
On our first visit to the cafe, there was a mass shooting down a couple blocks, which was traumatic and scary but luckily we were unharmed. On our next visit we wanted to grab a quick coffee. While there was a long queue, the people at the counter were quick in taking orders and making them ready to go.

Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options, especially if you are Indian vegetarian.

Someone needs to fire the cash register. She is beyond incredibly rude and definitely not customer service oriented. Turns her back to customers while they’re talking to her, barks at them, argues with other employees in front of the whole cafe, and even rolled her eyes and pointed her fingers for where a customer needed to go. I have been to this location several times and it is always the same poor attitude from the same rude individual. Everyone else is great and have wonderful demeanors, but this one employee is hopefully not what Cafe Beignet represents.

Lived up to its reputation. The beignets are as good as the other well known place, but the lines are so much shorter, and they serve a lot of other great foods as well. You order your meal , find a table, and they bring it to you. I had an andoulle sausage omelet, and there was a lot of meat and also cheese. It came with grits and a piece of toast. There were 3 beignets covered in powdered sugar and tasted great with cafe au lait. I didn't give a 5 for atmosphere because the order line runs through the inside seating tables. There is a patio doutside which is quieter, but the tables are all wobbly from the stone floor being uneven. You have to watch your drinks if someone leans too hard. There was a great busker playing on the sidewalk, so we had some good tunes playing while we were there.

Absolutely the best. No need to stand in lines at other places for undersized beignets. Just delicious. Cajun hash browns were very good. Live music in the afternoons. Have to go.

Honestly, the beignets are ok nothing to get over excited about and the service is really good. Me and my wife sat out on the courtyard and was run back in the building by a family of rats! And I mean a lot of them! Deal breaker for me big time
