Our Airbnb was right across the street from this spot, and it was obvious how popular it was with long lines in the morning. The beignets and atmosphere here is fantastic. The line however was very long and slow moving. There were plenty of people working but somehow only one person actually taking payments. This made the line move incredibly slowly while a bunch of people stood around behind the counter with nothing to do. These are my favorite beignets that I have tried in NOLA. We made a quick stop at Cafe Beignet on Canal Street and were pleasantly surprised. The food came out fast and everything was really good. I had the Cajun omelet and it was awesome—great flavor and spice. My wife enjoyed the veggie omelet, and my daughter had the breakfast sandwich, which she loved. We also tried one of each beignet flavor, and they were all incredible—crispy, fresh, and sweet. Definitely a great breakfast...
