Cafetomas Uptown

Cafe Tomas came highly recommended. When our streetcar stopped we decided to catch a bite and then walk home. Grabbed a seat and there was only one other table of 3 in restaurant who had quite obviously already ordered. Sign outside said $1 taco Tuesday. We just needed a quick bite so figured that would be good. We ordered plantanos, 2 chicken tacos and 2 beef tacos. Food was good. Beef a bit tough. It took 15 minutes to get platanos. Mind you, ONE other table who had app. Noticed their dishes came out piece-mailed. Another TWENTY minutes if not more for FOUR small tacos. Get the bill and partner paid. Got half-way home and I looked at receipt to see we had been charged $3.99 for each taco. Were they good? For the most part. Were they worth $3.99 EACH when sandwich board outside CLEARLY said $1 each for taco Tuesday? Nope! Will not go back. Next time I stop it will be next door at Lebanon Cafe.

Cafetomas never disappoints!! Their new location is beautiful and it has the same charm as their first location in Kenner. Cafetomas has the best background music and it is never too loud. Food was also outstanding. We got breakfast arepa and the beef arepas and we loved them both. Their natural juices are great too. Additionally, the owner is very welcoming and ensures you have a great experience.

never pick up the phone when I call to pick up. I called the Kenner location to check why and someone answered saying they don’t speak English. Then they hung up. ?

Stop in for a bite for lunch. Luckily is was Tuesday which meant Taco Tuesday. The best tacos possibly in town and the Arepas were amazing!

Arepas are a solid 10. But they’re messy, so eat with a fork. The service is really warm and friendly, it’s a cozy place.

The owner was very gracious in rectifying an order mishap. The dragon ball smoothie is amazing! Will definitely have it again.

You really can’t beat the taco Tuesdays- $1 tacos and 2 for $10 margaritas all day! This is one of our favorite local restaurants. Everything is delicious, there’s never a wait, and the staff is wonderful.

Amazing food, nice atmosphere, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, never too loud. I come here with my friends all the time. Today I got takeout and they left a sweet note on our box. 10/10, can’t recommend this place enough!

3rd coming here and it never fails. The service is the best service anyone could experience. They are so friendly. Valentina was over the top friendly. Made us feel like family. I recommend the arepas they are so delicious. They won me as a client. It’s a must to come here!

Coming here is a must! The food was great, the service was great. We were greeted very nicely since we walked in and left. Ashely was very awesome and sweet. I tried for the first time the chicken arepas and they were delicious. I will definitely recommend and I will definitely be back.
