During a recent family outing, we decided to stop by this charming café for a delightful cup of coffee and some snacks. Situated in a lovely location, the café boasted a serene ambiance, and the staff welcomed us with warmth and courtesy. They were incredibly helpful in guiding us through our snack choices, which we thoroughly enjoyed alongside our flavorful and aromatic coffee. However, there was a minor hiccup that caught me by surprise. As a right-handed individual, I only noticed halfway through my coffee that the cup was chipped quite noticeably, causing the coffee to slowly leak out. It was a comical moment when I finally realized it after switching hands. While this small incident brought about a moment of laughter, I couldn't help but think it might be worth a gentle reminder for the café owners to inspect their tableware. Everything else about our experience was wonderful, and I look forward to returning soon.Despite what happened, I still give a 5* and would not hesitate to go back to this restaurant.

I went to get a refill of Diet Coke this morning - using my 32 ounce fountain drink cup - which I have done many times before. I had my 13 year daughter alongside me as I was on the way to bring her to school. We waited in a very long line as one of the registers stopped working while we were in line. When I finally got to the register and asked for my refill, I was charged $5.54! The manager told the employee to charge me twice. I told the manager that I go there often for a refill and that I have never been charged that. I told her that I was not going to pay almost $6 for a Diet Coke refill. She very rudely dumped out the drink and gave me back my cup. As we were walking out, my daughter told me that she made a comment about my lips. My daughter could not hear exactly what she said, but it definitely was not a compliment. That is not how an employee, much less a manager, should behave and represent a business and act in front of young people. What a role model. My daughter was appalled at her behavior and comment that she made under her breath as we walked out. Because of experiences like this, my daughter, who is a straight A student, has no desire to stay in the city for college or return to reside here as an adult. It is truly sad. My family has been going to Chateau Cafe in Kenner - and also in Lakeview - for many years and has never experienced such rude behavior. I understand the concept of inflation and the need for increases in prices, but almost $6 for a Diet Coke refill is ridiculous. And the manager throwing out the drink just shows that it's not about inflation at all! Above all for me was the rude behavior!

We went for breakfast, and it didn't disappoint; I got the Elvons breakfast, and that's a lot of food! The service was fast, and the workers were friendly. I love the cafe's vibe, with lots of chatter and good people. I recommend trying this place out if you are in Lakeview!

Very good breakfast, reasonably priced, easily accessible, and unpretentious neighborhood restaurant. Lots of parking. Place order and pay at the counter, then take your own drink and cutlery to a table; a server will bring your food. Our breakfast arrived quickly: a huge bowl of oatmeal generously topped with berries, a side order of bacon, and a nicely-prepared spinach and feta omelet served with a biscuit.

Chateau looks a little bit like it was pulled out of the 1980s, but the food is actually pretty good. There's no table service, so you order at the counter. I like the croissant breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm really trying to figure out what previous customers have been raving about. The so called Belgian waffle puts you in the mind of frozen ego's. The waffle was tasteless and bland. Tbacon was burnt to a crisp. The customer service was subpar with a pompous arrogant guy at the register. He actually got upset with me because he didn't hear all of my order, because he was too busy having a personal conversation with another employee - had nothing to do with business. First & last of visits- this was such a deviant of most places I've visited in New Orleans area.

Great place to grab a bite and coffee. Food was fresh and looked great just not a lot of seasoning added to dishes. Had a turkey, avocado breakfast sandwich before and it was good just not seasoned but fluffed well when I added salt and pepper. Staff isn't overly nice but the are polite. Frozen coffee is always good. Can't go wrong.

We stopped in for a late lunch and got the chateau club on wheat with chips and salsa. The sandwich was really good! Could've used a little more honey mustard but it was fresh and packed with meat and veggies. The salsa was fresh and had a great flavor. My husband got the almond shiver granita, he gets it regularly, and it's really good. We paid $12 for the sandwich with chips and salsa which isn't bad at all. It was clean on the inside, they have shaded outdoor seating and the ladies at the counter were super sweet.

We had breakfast here this morning. Everything was delicious. Omelet, French toast, bacon, and coffee. I got a jitter to go and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

I've been a customer of Chateau Cafe for at least 20 years. I love the Shiver and stop in every time I'm in the area. It would be awesome to have a location on the Northshore!
