I enjoyed a lovely dinner at this quaint and cozy Bistro . I ordered off of the menu for the day and had the soft shell crab over a nice size bed of lettuce with salad and it was the perfect pair . The mussels were delicious . My friends split one of their amazing pizzas and had one of the salads. The service was excellent and absolutely love the atmosphere of this very special gem .

This is an absolute hidden gem, that transports you to a small bistro in France. It is small, bustling, and romantic. They have a large wine selection, a fantastic cheese plate, and amazing escargot. It warms my heart to know that there are still restaurants in this city that bring fresh warm flakey bread to the table when you are seated. Portions and prices are reasonable. Cash or check only.

The special I ordered was seafood over rice ... it was dry and bland. All the seafood must have been prepared days before. Very disappointing. When I talked to the server about the dish she said no one yesterday complained ( well, it might have been fresh yesterday but not today!) She said that since the owner was not in the restaurant she could only remove my cocktail from the bill. We will not return.

Delightful small restaurant in a quiet area. We would be regulars if we didn't live 400 miles away! Apple and carrot soup was a real hit. About 5 minutes walk from the streetcar stop.

A quaint, intimate restaurant with truly delicious food, friendly and attentive staff, and a large selection of great wine and cocktails.

Vegetarian options: The pizza is absolutely to die for, and you can build your own or choose from three different “house” pizzas - the veggie, the Bianca, or the Ollivier, which are all vegetarian options. There are a few soup and salad selections, and the fries are perfection. Bread service is included with every meal, so no vegetarian should leave this place hungry.

Hidden gem! We keep coming back. I've been 3 times now. The pizza is amazing. Every entree I have had so far is fantastic. You don't just get "high-fat cheese and pasta" here. It's French/Italian cuisine, but do not mistake this for Olive Garden. They really give this the gourmet touch. Plenty of seasonings, perfectly executed. Great prices for what they do. And no other restaurant in New Orleans has done this for me: When I enter Cote Sud, I feel like I am immediately transported back to Europe. I'm impressed.

We really wanted to like this place, but it just missed the mark on a few fronts. The pasta was soupy, the noodles were soft, vegetables a bit mushy. Prices were $3-5 more than the menu online. The duck was tasty, the tomatoes in the caprese were fresh, our server was friendly, but I can’t recommend this restaurant.

A very cosy place where cocktails and dishes were delightful. A « real » place. No extravagance just good and tasty food. A plus for me as a French gourmet !

My husband and I attended a wedding in Pensacola, but flew in and out of NOLA so that we could see our daughter who attends Tulane. We thought that finding a restaurant in New Orleans on Sunday evening not too far from her off campus housing would be relatively easy, but it was not. After several failed attempts at reservations with restaurants we knew, I found Ciro's Cote Sud using a search engine. I read reviews, which were a bit out of date and some were great but others were not favorable. I figured what the heck. We mostly wanted to be with our daughter. Cote Sud was a GREAT surprise-- the food was amazing and the service was too. We started with the charcuterie board and cheese--yum, very good and not too much for the three of us. I had the veal medallions (I don't usually eat veal but made an exception; it was on the specials list and sounded really delicious). My husband had the pork roast and my daughter had the petite filet mignon. All three entrees were so delicious--cooked perfectly and with just the right amount of sauces. The vegetables were cooked perfectly as well. My dinner came with stuffed zucchini, which often has too much cheese and salt, with a soggy vegetable, but the zucchini itself at Cote Sud still had a bit of crunch, just a bit and the flavors were subtle and yummy. We bought a bottle of wine on the low end price-wise but it was very good, and our server was friendly and not intrusive. The restaurant is small and cozy. My husband remarked that if this restaurant were in our town we would be there every week. One note--there was pizza on the menu. That seemed very odd but a couple entered the restaurant, somewhat hesitantly and then decided to stay because there was pizza. I asked them how it was and they said very good. We enjoyed the French food. Two things in closing-- I ordered crème bruleé, I always do when it is on any menu and this crème was delicious, with the bruleé neither burned nor gritty with uncooked sugar, so that was a win as well. Prices were reasonable, but note that they are cash only. So, be sure to go to the ATM before you get there or be ready with your Venmo.

There is no steak house in the city which can do a filet a fraction as good as Cote Sud. Everything here is great, and I love the atmosphere. Every time I eat here I wonder why I don't come here more often as it's always delicious, and in my opinion, really under priced for what you receive.
