Was looking forward to this one. Was kinda devastated with my entree. Ordered veal liver, it had so much Italian seasoning on it the meat was completely overpowered. My wife and our friend had veal with crabmeat and bernaise sauce, very little crab meat and it was tasteless. Brie has no place on an oyster, just sayin.
The sweetbreads were pretty damn good though. With all the hype I hope it was just a bad night, I DO NOT MIND paying $300.00 for a meal as long as it’s worth it. This was not.

Always a win ... especially if you order the fish. Wine choices here is vast and fairly priced. This institution sets the standard for greatness in the Uptown New Orleans neighborhood restaurant scene.

Great NOLA restaurant!!!
Food and atmosphere always great!
I had a fantastic experience celebrating a graduation at Clancy’s. The food was outstanding—I'm still dreaming about the fried oysters with Brie! The atmosphere was inviting, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion or a memorable night out.
Amazing!
Service seemed distracted forgot our order and on being reminded still got it wrong. Appetizer (fried green tomatoes)
was excellent. Entre (Veal), was tough and overcooked. Didn't get the dessert. Found prices a little bit high for what you got. It was graduation week so very busy, they may have been a bit overwhelmed so I'm going to give it another try.
Went here for the first time today. The service was great from the hostess to the wait staff. I enjoyed everything I had. I opted to get multiple 1st courses instead of an entree. My mom and I split the BBQ shrimp and grits cake and it was my favorite bite! The grit cake was so flavorful and the BBQ shrimp sauce was delectable. I wanted to use the French bread to sop up the remaining sauce but didn't want to get full on bread. I also had the fried green tomatoes with crawfish corn maque choux and it was very flavorful! Lastly I had the fried eggplant with aioli. I enjoyed it because I love eggplant but it was the most understated of all the flavors I had today. My mom had the crab salad which she really enjoyed. We ended the meal with the chocolate brownie pie which was so good filled with whole pecans and topped with butter pecan ice cream. Im sure I gained 10lbs from this meal but it was so worth it!
We were one of the first to arrive for lunch but it got crowded/busy quick and with the crowd came the noise. The acoustics aren't great so near the end we struggled to hear one another seated right next to each other. I will definitely go back to try other dishes although it'll be hard to compete with the BBQ shrimp dish.
Hands down my favorite spot in the city. Everything is amazing. From the food, the drinks, atmosphere, service. Top notch.

We were a table for 4 with 8 pm reservations. We sat unattended for a long time. Finally we grabbed the general manager , 50 minutes after our 8 pm seating , and he apologized stating that they should not have seated our tables all at the same time. We did not get our entrees for 70 minutes after our order being taken. So finally eating our meal 2 hours after our reservations. We were given three differing excuses as to why it happened, with a complete lack of hospitality.
So food was good but nothing worth the wait. We were offered a glass of wine for our inconvenience. We were also offered a free dessert but declined. The bill came and a “free dessert” was charged on our bill and had to be removed. We tipped appropriately for our meal but did not find this establishment honest or gracious for all their errors. Walked right by general manager as we exited who never looked up to acknowledge us or to apologize for a really disappointing experience.

Made reservations two weeks in advance to celebrate my wife's Birthday and asked to be seated downstairs. No problem. Arrived five minutes before our 6:30 reservations and were asked to stand in the bar area until called. Waited 45 minutes before being told that we would have to dine upstairs, to which I complained and we were told to leave. I have been coming to Clancy's since Billy Slaten and others bought this Po-Boy shop and turned it into this wonderful restaurant. In all of this time I have never ever been treated with such disrespect.

Wonderful dinner and fantastic service! We had the blistered shishito peppers with whopped feta and the crab salad for starters. For the main course, we got lobster and wild mushroom risotto and the veal with lump crabmeat. We rounded out the meal with the bananas foster bread pudding. Everything was excellent!

What a difference a year makes… I visited in June 2023 for a birthday celebration & thoroughly enjoyed the food. Our waiter was subpar for a fine dining experience & neglected to really serve us consistently. We requested a new waiter then things were great! I frequently visit many restaurants in the city and I wanted to celebrate my brother’s birthday with excellent food so we selected Clancy’s, however this visit was not up to any of our expectations.
Our waiter was very welcoming the atmosphere was not quite as inviting as last time but that is the least of our concern. It was 6 guest we ordered Oyster Brie it is not a dish I would ever order again. It was just that bad!
The food lacked seasoning and it was just a very bland experience. I ordered waygu steak medium temperature and it came out seared hard on the edges and rare & my accompanying fries were not edible. They had been fried long before steak preparation and were extremely hard. I sent them back of course. Same for another guest. The food just lacked flavor from the gumbo to the soft shell crab and the lamb was extremely dry. The best thing we had was drinks honestly.
When visiting a fine dining establishment certain expectations must be met minimally from the customer as well as the establishment. There was a couple seated directly next to us and he conveniently took his shoes off and crossed his legs as though he were inside of his home. It was very obvious and could be seen from many angles. I thought for certain that management would address it immediately, but it was never acknowledged. Quite uncomfortable as we observed other tables in disbelief as well!
Simply we won’t be returning but we were not pleased with dinner & now I must make up a monumental celebration because they just did not meet any of our expectations!
