Cochon Butcher Reviews
My husband and I were passing through and stopped for lunch. OMG! I miss good BBQ and this hit the spot. Highly recommend. The staff is amazing, they even brought my dog a bowl of water. I will be back when passing through again.
Great food great service. All the servers are so kind and helpful clean environment great drinks
Yall saved us during the NFL Superbowl Experience at the convention center. Only a 5 min walk, didnt need an hour wait (like the main Cochon). Collard greens, fresh sharp & sweet, had bacon like they should.10$ Batture blond ale& whisky special hit just right after a long day. Fried chicken was fat & juicy with crunchy skin alive with pepper. The muffaletta was tangy with olive salad and butchershop quality cold cuts and cheese, second best in town next to Central Grocery!

Cochon Butcher is a highly recommended restaurant in New Orleans that offers exceptional service and delicious food. The menu features unique dishes such as alligator, gumbo, rabbit and dumplings, and short ribs, all made with fresh and tender ingredients. The bartenders craft outstanding drinks, and the atmosphere is low-key and welcoming. The fried ribs are a must-try, and the Muffuletta is a popular choice at the bar. Visitors find the food made with love and care, and the staff are described as gracious and helpful. The restaurant is known for its gourmet sandwiches, such as the tangy and delicious muffaleta, as well as sides like mac and cheese. Guests enjoy a friendly and memorable experience. While some dishes may be pricey, the quality and flavor make it well worth a visit, and repeat visitors say they always plan to return whenever in New Orleans.
The boudin balls are pretty good, but the gumbo may not impress everyone. The redfish, however, is praised. The service is friendly, with prompt service after ordering. The music is cool and not overly loud, and the decor is really nice. Some find the location fair but the parking bad, and the interior a bit pretentious. However, the sandwiches, such as the muffaletta, porchetta, and Pig Mac, are fantastic. The other sides, like potato salad, coleslaw, and macaroni, are less impressive.
