The uniqueness of the menu is only exceeded by the quality of the food and service. The boiled peanuts were well seasoned, and the breading of the alligator bites enhanced their flavor (sometimes breading can overwhelm). Had the Cochon, which was tender and juicy.
The service was top notch--the staff made the meal feel special.
I was advised not to miss this restaurant and man, I'm glad I didn't. Showed up with a reservation for lunch and was treated to exceptional service and great food. The gumbo had a rich depth to it and was well portioned. Baked oysters were a treat, and the sauce begged for an unlimited amount of rolls. The cochon that day was jowel, and it was pretty darn out of this world. That's coming from a Cuban that loves his lechon. Ended with some nanner pudding then back...
They weee busy so it took a bit for us to get orders in. However, the main drop from 5 to 4 was the cockroach that was waiting to greet us at the booth. I understand that things happen but it did ruin the meal for a couple of the other guests with me.
