Date night. The Couvant was suggested as a dinner experience before a private magic show at the Eliza Jane, in the same building. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 8:00 pm reservation and informed the server that finally came to the hostess desk that we had reservations to the show at 9:30. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting at the bar, manned by only one bartender, to be sat. There appeared to only be two servers, no hostess and certainly no manager. It was obvious that the staff was in the weeds. By 9:20 pm we had only received a salad, which was tasteless. Had we walked off the street looking for a pre-show dinner the experience would have been merely disappointing. But, as the Couvant was advertised as a compliment to a “magical' evening we decided to dine there, as my wife and I always wanted to visit the Eliza Jane hotel. After the show (which was exceptional) we walked to Caesars's casino to find a place that was still serving food. So, dinner for date night ended up being a slice of pizza at 11:30 pm. We will not be going back to the Couvant

We went at 12:30 and they had yet to mobilize their kitchen for lunch. After 25 minutes, they informed me that the soup we ordered was not available. Our food came about 45 minutes after ordering. The staff was unapologetic. Shrimp & Grits was really good. However overall experience was very lackluster.

Our food was mixed. He had beouf bourgignon which was good. My fish was a little overcooked and the sauce though flavorful was cool on one side of the plate. Indicates poor preparation to me. Service was mediocre. Too bad, it's a nice setting but not up to par for New Orleans.

Food and service were very good. The menu is undergoing changes and several items were not available.

Service was good but good quality very poor. Steal was not cooked to order and was cold. Fries were soggy.

–30 We dined today at 1:00pm. There was one other table being served, which should have tipped us off. No atmosphere. We ordered the coolinary lunch. I ordered the croque madame. It was one big heavy mess and the cheese on the inside was not melted. They did offer to cook another but I declined. They did pour the 2 of us a glass of very sweet champagne. It was a nice gesture. My partner ordered the mussels. Would be better without the cayenne. I should have ask to have my meal removed from our bill but I didnt. Oh well. We won't return. *update. We received a message from the restaurant to contact them but that didn't give a number or an email. I found a contact on their website and emailed them. They never followed up. I guess that was just for show.

We've been once before and enjoyed everything about it. This time, we made a reservation five days ahead of time, got sat right away and after 30 minutes left bc no one would take our order. It's disappointing since it was a special birthday dinner. We ended up at Arnaud's and it was delicious with top tier service

Read the most Current Reviews and Stay Away!!! This restaurant has an active infestation of MICE. Mice fesses kills!!! They have loss all their Chefs over a 90 day span. The entire kitchen staff are temps just winging it. That's why the lady in previous review was served bad oysters. There is no one there cable or who cares enough to make sure they aren't serving outdated food. This place is a sinking ship, not what it used to be. Hence the empty dining area. New staff. OLD FOOD. MICE.

Drinks: Full bar but cannot do a Paloma, I had to send back my drink twice.
Food: Oyster were not fresh... I had to stop because one was very nasty. Tasted 100% spoiled. They was some slimy water dripping out of them.
Ambiance: Place is empty. My party started sleeping.
Service: Slow. We have been here since 7:05PM it is 8PM, we just received our starters AND THE PLACE IS EMPTY.
Please save yourself the trouble.

The food is well worth the price. We have eaten here twice this week. The food is excellent, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere calming. Easy to enjoy your meal.

ummm the service was pretty good. But the food wasnt good. Fougasse: not what i expected - I didnt like it but if you like herbs and bread, you would probably like it (i am more a plain bread person)
Escargot en Croute: the escargot was good, and it was served on a puff pastry but the puff was a bit too buttery and oily.
Carrot soup - this was good. We wanted the Truffled Butternut Squash Veloute but they didnt have it that day and only had carrot - but it was still pretty good.
Flat iron steak - it was a bit overcook. Didnt like it.
if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is the place, we were the only table there that night!

I made reservations for our party of five while in News for Essence fest. The decor and ambiance was very nice. Our waiter was friendly and shred which dishes he liked. I had the house sangria and the duck confit with waffle. Both were delicious and very flavorful. They seemed to be short staffed but it was only an issue when we waited for our bill, but the manager helped with that so it was fine. Overall a great experience!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday on 07/04/25 and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I hate that I don't remember our server's name but she was amazing!! The bartender even checked in with us to ask how his drinks were (FANTASTIC!!). I had the duck cofit and waffles (100 out of 10) my boyfriend had the shrimp and grits (he RAVED) and we shared the stuffed French toast for an appetizer. We were thoroughly satisfied and I absolutely enjoyed my Birthday Brunch at Couvant! Thanks for an amazing start to my birthday weekend!!

My husband and I were blown away with dinner last night! Chef Sam is extremely talented and does amazing things with Brussel sprouts. We have been to Las Vegas many times and the “top chefs” have nothing on Chef Sam. We will definitely be back. Thank you again to Jeremy, our server, for the wonderful evening. He was so attentive! The staff is from around the world! Super knowledgeable and very nice. Thank you again for a wonderful tasty life changing meal ! Ps get the chocolate ice cream too !!!
