We had a reservation for 5pm got there at 4:45. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we were seated relatively quickly. It took over 45 minutes to get our food while we watched wait staff stand around my Bbq Shrimp & Grits were cold and the shrimp were a little over cooked. The waiter we had was very friendly and apologetic about the wait time for the food.
Tina and Meg were absolutely AMAZING! We were a large party - table of 11 and they made sure we were taken care of as a priority! They were so nice & sweet and even let us split our check 11 ways!!! (Everywhere else in NOLA wouldn't and with 11 people that was the most lazy and annoying thing ever). When we asked Tina said “Absolutely I can do whatever you want ladies” so THANK YOU! Very pretty wall art and ambiance overall - beautiful jazz music playing and the sweet peach beer-cocktail was phenomenal.
My sister and I enjoyed selections from their Coolinary menu. We started with a six sample flight of beers. They were all good except the seasonal one but I'd rather drink wine or whiskey anyway. We split the fried alligator appetizer which was well seasoned after marinating in Crystal hot sauce. It was lightly battered and served on top of their delicious tartar sauce. We also split a chicken and sausage gumbo. It was made with a dark roux and was soleless. It just could've used something. Not too good in my opinion. The pork roullets were served cold in a jar with some delicious, fluffy bread. It was very good and plentiful. For our entrees I ordered the pork chop over cheese grits and green beans. It had a grill type sear on it and was perfectly seasoned with loads of roasted garlic pieces on top and juicy. The grits were nothing special. My sister got the hangar steak with mashed sweet potatoes and corn. It was very good too. Nice and tender and trimmed well. Our desserts were so big we couldn't even eat them. I ordered the chocolate cake and she got the bread pudding which was great the next morning warmed up with some bacon and eggs. I'm pleasantly surprised with the delicious food and great service we received. The last time I went there, years ago, I was not satisfied at all. It was pretty warm in the back of the restaurant. Probably 76-78 degrees. Which is a bit too warm for me. But, it is summer and all of their doors are open.
Chill vibe, amazing charbroiled oysters, and excellent beer. Highly recommend.

Nathaniel was the epitome of excellent service! I felt the southern hospitality from the moment he introduced himself. He took amazing care of our large group! He is a treasure!
Stopped in for a cold drink, and it was very nice place. Great service. The food looked amazing, but I did not have any.

Very delicious food and drink. We had the shrimp and grits, the mac'n'cheese, and fried shrimp. Would recommend the shrimp and grits to others. The beer was good. Only complaint would be that the place was a little pricey.

what really truely drew us in was the jazz that they played for entertainment. I have the red fish and potato that was well seasoned and nice and soft and my mom’s Caesar salad was well plated and delicious.

I had the shrimp and crawfish pasta! It was a bit spicy and so much food. Forgot to take a picture of my food. But got my beer! This stout beer was amazing! Great service from our server! Bathroom door (first one) didn’t lock walked in on a lady. Sorry lady! Very loud music from the Steam Boat was easily heard and we were in the back of the restaurant. Overall amazing food and great atmosphere! Awesome art on the walls!

Nice and spacious place with live musicians playing, but I paid a staggering price of over 18 dollars (with tip) for a large beer (no prices listed on the menu. You will find cheaper in Saint-Tropez or even Monaco. In their defense, it was a pilsner, I suppose an imported beer, but still, that price is just not justifiable.
