We wanted to focus on restaurants that are New Orleans institutions; however we wished we visited somewhere else. Our chateaubriand tasted overcooked, chewy and chucky. It was also cold to the touch, and someone other than our server had to bring it to our table. The Caesar salad was oily, and it was hard to taste any flavor. Not the meal we had imagined but the onion rings and Brabant potatoes were good, as were the broccoli and mushrooms. The sauces were fairly bland.

You can “turn back time” at this legendary Steak House opened in 1934. You could imagine “Miss Kitty” from the hit TV series Gunsmoke to be standing by the bar! You will wish all restaurants could be like this one!

My partner and i had great service here tonight. It's our last night in New Orleans and we wanted to go out for a nice steak dinner. Unfortunately we were seated near a man who was making some pretty inappropriate comments to his date and being generally belligerent, misogynistic, and annoying. We asked our server to please move us seats and she was more than accommodating, even offering to put us in a more private and quiet booth. Girl to girl, I really appreciated that. Aside from the service, the food was fab. The steaks were piping hot and cooked really well. The hand cut steak fries were to *die* for and as self-proclaimed potato connoisseur I would patronize this establishment solely for them. Shout out to Rachel for redirecting a potentially awful dinner and making it right. We'll be back.

Crescent City Steak House continues to be “reliable.” The steaks are always great, as are the sides, the service is old school-polite, white tablecloth style. I hadn’t been in about a year and was curious how much the martinis had gone up, since prices have gone up everywhere. Well, my Absolute martini, up and dirty, was a whopping $8.50. I love the atmosphere. Make a reservation as they’re always packed. Play a song on the juke box and enjoy!Parking: Easy parking lot with a security guard.

We visited Crescent City Steakhouse yesterday for the first time and loved it! The food was delicious, and the service was spectacular! Our server Amy was fantastic and recommended some things to us, including wine that made our evening even better! The onion rings are delicious as is the Caesar salad (though, not a traditional Caesar dressing). The chateaubriand (for 2 people) is almost enough for 3 people.

The food was sooo good. I had the sirloin and it was tender and it came wrapped in bacon. My husband had the cowboy steak and it was perfection and out of this world. The ambiance as expected casual, Low key and comfortable. A bit loud but then again it was Friday night. The service was incredible. Our waitress had the answers to all our questions since it was our first time there. The Grahams Tawny 10 year old Port wine was OMG so yummy. The 20 year Grahams Tawny was good too. I had the Melbac an Argentine wine dry but not too much. We had forgotten our leftovers and left. The restaurant CALLED us and said they'd hold it. We went right back. Amazing service. AMAZING!

Historic family steakhouse. Building is well preserved. Not too crowded for s midday lunch. Service was attentive but learned toward slow or leisurely. Our meals were good, the 'sizzling plates' were nice and hot but not sizzling.Salmon was not on the menu but we overheard a table ordering it after our waitress said there were no specials and it was quite good. Our filet was tender and cooked as ordered. The rib eye looked nice but was much thinner and tougher than expected for such a historic steak house so I can't recommend one of my favorite cuts of meat.Desserts looked good but we'd already spent almost 2 hours there so it was time to move on...

An institution. Great staff. Good food and cocktails. Butter steak goodness. Secret romantic booth behind the curtains. A variety and cross section of New Orleans people. This is my neighborhood restaurant.Parking: Secure parking lot.

The food was absolutely delicious! The waiter was knowledgeable and answered all the questions our friend had who had never been. I hadn't been in years and was delighted that it was better than I remembered!

We arrived early, were seated immediately. ( We even got to choose our seat, a coveted privacy booth) William, our waiter, was attentive but not intrusive. Food and drinks were on point, from Arnold Palmer and Buffalo Trace Sidecars, perfectly fried onion rings, crabmeat stuffed mushrooms, Ribeye, Chateaubriand for 2, to our Bread pudding and creole cream cheesecake. Each course was better than the last. Thank you to William, our waiter, and all the staff for a memorable experience. We will be back.

Delicious steaks and salmon. Sides and salads are small, and varying quality. The mushrooms and German fries were delicious. The salad was very small and iceberg lettuce only. The asparagus side was literally 4 stems! The fillet was delicious and perfectly cooked, and came out very hot. The salmon was similarly delicious. Desserts were disappointing. The ambiance was classic old style NOLA. In general, a nice meal, not outstanding, but enjoyable and reasonably priced. Recommended.

It wasn't too crowded because it was the first Friday after Ash Wednesday. Filet was delicious and perfectly cooked (rare). The extra cut ribeyes that my son and husband ordered were well-cooked to order as well, but i was very disappointed in the size of my son's steak. It was noticeably smaller AND thinner than husband's steak, so much so that i almost asked if they had accidentally served my son the regular ribeye. Sides were great, especially the thick cut onion rings and the spinach au gratin. We love the caeser salad dressing which is made in house. Service was friendly and very attentive. This is my favorite steakhouse. Not pretentious or over priced. Just good food, good service, and real New Orleans atmosphere.
