Desi Vega's Steakhouse - New Orleans

Darryle and DJ were PHENOMENAL!!! I’ve never experienced service of this level. Even though they had several other tables that required their attention, we felt like we had their complete and undivided attention. Management also made us feel welcomed and appreciated. It was our friends birthday and the servers made her feel so so special. We couldn’t have possibly asked for a better way to spend the night! If you eat here, make sure to ask for Darryle and DJ!!

It was'nt bad but it wasn't Ruths Chris especially with the price being comparible if not more.

Great service! Crab cake was very good. Steak was flavorful but very undercooked. Ordered it medium, they talked me into medium rare due to it coming out on a hot plate, steak came out very rare and didn’t cook much more on the hot plate. Broccoli au gratin was good.

I don’t say this lightly—this was the most incredible filet mignon I’ve ever had. From the very first bite, it felt like I’d transcended into some higher culinary realm. The texture was impossibly tender, perfectly cooked, and rich with flavor in a way that almost didn’t feel real. Each bite somehow managed to be better than the last.

What also elevated the entire experience was the service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they were serving. Every detail—from the timing to the presentation—was executed flawlessly.

This wasn’t just a great meal; it was an experience I won’t forget. If you’re looking for a steak that borders on life-changing, this is the place in New Orleans!

This was probably the worst food experience the two of us have ever had in Nola. We arrived on the last Friday of lent. We chose a steak house bc we knew it would be slow and the service would be prime, right? Sat at the bar. Two bartenders. Andrew and Olivia I believe. Olivia greeted us, I feel like Andrew got stuck with us. They were obviously upset the restaurant was slow, but here is your chance to give great service and make 35% grat, right? Not to them. It’s not their fault that my steak ended up in my napkin bc it was horrible. It was not their fault that after we pushed the food away, unfinished, that a manager approached us after all food was removed and gave us the bill with a smile. I was not sure which tasted worse, the steak tartare or the steak Caprese. Both dishes were thrown out with three or less bites taken from them. There were a solid 8 managers who were plenty capable of turning the night around. This was truly a night ruining experience. It was our final meal before the 10k the next day. Needless to say we got snacks when we left. After our $250 bill of regret.
If you do happen to go to this Sysco steak house, don’t sit at the bar. And don’t hold your breath for management to care about your experience.

My best friend & I celebrated our birthday in March at Desi Vega's St. Charles location. The food & service was awesome our waiter Daniel was so professional, very knowledgeable of the menu extremely attentive and very humorous. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Food and service was top notch as expected. Couldnt do anything to improve. Only bumb was they were out of crab cakes but the BBQ Shrimp and Tasso were oitstanding . Waiter Joshua was excellent. Both managers came by and thanked us for coming by. Daughters 26th birthday was ezcellent. Thanks to all.

I had a NY strip steak that was tender, deliciously tasteful and cooked to my requested temperature of medium rare. The restaurant was very busy but the service was flawless.

Incredible dishes with great service without all the pretense and fluff found in other establishments.

A friend who lives in New Orleans recommended Desi Vega and he was right, Great food, great service and a very nice atmosphere. Turtle soup was outstanding, lobster bisque was also very good. My steak was cooked to perfection and the Cheesecake was a great finish to a great meal. So many great restaurants in New Orleans, but when we return we will come back and have another great meal
