Overall experience was lovely. Food was phenomenally delicious. Kenny made the overall experience fun, light-hearted and celebratory!
Great experience all around. The Cowboy steak was amazing. This will definitely stay in our New Orleans rotation.
It was my first time dining at Desi Vega. It won't be my last. Restaurant is beautiful, white table cloths, heavy wooden furniture and a beautiful bar. My friend and I were trying new places during Restaurant Week. Desi Vega did not disappoint. The amuse bouche' was probably the best meatball that I have ever had. We ordered the calamari, the addition of olive salad was wonderful. Next, we split a seafood salad. Delicious! And then we had the red fish and vegetables special. It was fabulous. We finished with chocolate mousse. The service was outstanding. Terrance so took care of us! We ordered way too much food and he graciously packed the food leftover for us to go. He even threw in a few surprises for us. I can honestly say that the leftovers were spot on the next day. It was c such a lovely experience that I can't wait to go back! Thanks Terrance for taking such good care of us!
I have very mixed reviews on this restaurant. The service was very friendly, but also very slow. Took a while to get drinks and then took almost 40 minutes to get a steak, medium rare. It came out undercooked, so I had them throw it back on for a couple minutes and then it was better. The steak was a ribeye and was ok. Had a large fat line dividing the steak and was WAY too salty. I actually wound up sick that night and the next day but can't say for sure it was the food. The ambiance was great and people were friendly, but I would t go back again.
I was truly excited to take my husband here for his birthday surprise and father's day as this was our first experience, especially being out of town and seeing the great reviews. He is a steak lover of course and the atmosphere was quite lovely and they treated us all like royalty. My family and I definitely enjoyed how they made you feel welcome and special. The thing that made the night go a little downhill for his special night was the length of time it took to get our food, which was a little over an hour. The second thing was having to sit there another hour or so to just to eventually retrieve our check and barely getting checked in on due to staff becoming overly busy. They eventually brought out dessert to try and make it right, which was thoughtful, but we still ended up sitting there another hour or so trying to get the check to leave, only to then have them correct the ticket 2 times due to charging us for the dessert and another item. The steak was a little overcooked but for medium but it was properly seasoned so I didn't want to send it back after having to wait all that time already. We did enjoy the atmosphere other than it not being great timing. The servers were very friendly and funny and tried to make everything special.
We booked a 545pm reservation at the restaurant prior to a 8pm concert at the Smoothie King Arena. Close to the venue so a great choice. Excellent dining experience and must say the service was superb for this local steakhouse. The Bibb salad was very tasty and followed it up with a bone-in Filet with lobster tail for a great surf and turf. Everything cooked to perfection. Will definitely return.
We always have a great time at Desi Vega's. Food is always amazing, the customer service is top tier. I love everything about this place.
Very nice restaurant. Food was as expected. Service was good but thought the manager was having bad day - didn't seem friendly. Servers seemed overwhelmed.
I was visiting from DC for my birthday and I had the most amazing dining experience ever at Desii Vega for lunch, from the moment that we walked into this establishment, we were greeted by name and had the BEST service ever. I throughly enjoyed the hospitality, food, (must try the Who Dat Shrimp), and the wait staff. I will most definitely return here again when I come back to New Orleans.
Food was excellent as usual. There was a very loud crowd in the restaurant where I think the sliding door could have been closed.

The only thing enjoyable about the experience was looking at Tre. He's a very cute waiter. I've been here before, and have had issues with the steak. But this time my steak tasted like it was still frozen when they started cooking it. The ribeye was so tough that I just ate a small portion and took it as a sign that I shouldn't be eating beef anyways. The stuffed shrimp appetizer was burnt, and everyone except Tre was either rude (Darryl) hard of hearing (the other waiter - don't remember his name) or the new to restaurant like the female who spilt the bottle of water while pouring it . I would have normally sent the steak back but I knew I was wrong for even giving them another shot.
We went for a late lunch and asked for the lamb even though it wasn't on their menu for lunch and they accommodated us ! They are the best lamb in New Orleans ! Unbelievable! The red velvet chocolate brownie with ice cream was everything as well! Great service ! This is one of my favorite places !
Mr Terrence was our server and he was awesome. Hope to get him next time he really made our experience perfect. We love love this location. Customer service from the entrance was a plus for me.The Rare Plus Steak was a super hit with my hubby he ate the entire steak. Tell Terrence thanks for that tip. The cooks stood on business with all our foods and the bartender as well. We will be back. The Jones
