Pre gaming and enjoying a quick bite before the Pelicans/Celtics game. I highly recommend checking this place out...

From drunk managers and chefs to downright disappointing menu offerings, this place is sure to disappoint you.I’ve had barbecue throughout the southern US and this place has some of the driest and flavorless smoked meats of them all. The sides are super disappointing too. Mac and cheese is watery, dirty rice just tastes like bitter ground brisket and hot sauce, while the potato salad is like a dried out clump of cold mashed potatoes. The staff seem to stand around a lot on their phones, leaning on countertops, and the general manager is a workplace bully with a reputation for drinking on the job.I’ve also visited other restaurants the head chef has worked at and honestly it seems like he’s copying someone else’s work. Or perhaps it’s the other way around. Who knows. The point is, this place lacks originality in concept and technique. It’s nothing special and there’s no reason to go out of your way to taste some less than mediocre barbecue and support the jerks who run the place.

It's good that my husband loves meat and was looking for something that is not Creole cuisine ? The meat was so delicious and not only meat that we came back the next day before departure. If we stayed longer, we would definitely be regular customers? Very nice service, we recommend this wonderful place ❤️

Food was delicious. I found the brisket to be a little bland but everything else was great. Smothered cabbage was YUMMY, it was my favorite side. Walking distance from our condo, we will definitely be back!

Love this place!!!! Love the pulled pork and brisket. I work very close to Devil Moon so I am a regular?. Quality and consistency never disappoints! The staff are so welcoming and make you feel like things will be done right for you. Lastly, cute interior, outside tables and it is clean… always a good experience!

Devil Moon is the highest quality BBQ in NOLA - BAR NONE! The walk up counter with a full view of the kitchen is an exciting way to introduce the customer to this Louisiana influenced BBQ menu. The basics are all provided with most of the sides having a little wink to Louisiana BBQ including beans and rice, sauce piquant, etc. All of the staff was very welcoming and very attentive. Food was prepared quickly and delivered to the table. Couldn't have asked for more. Little BONUS - I did not feel like I needed to take a nap right after lunch as is typical for me with BBQ. ALL THE STARS! ALL THE THUMBS UP!!!

Was really impressed with the food, service, and overall experience. The pork ribs, turkey, and brisket are easily some of the best I've had in NOLA. The waitstaff was super friendly and easily accommodated a few of our dietary restrictions. Loved the mac n cheese, beans and rice, and collared greens. Highly recommend for a delicious and easy group lunch in the downtown area!

Visited while in town for work. The turkey is an unexpected twist on BBQ that was moist and delicious. The brisket was great in terms of traditional fare. Pimento cheese dip and crackling are great adds to round out the order. Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely go back on my next trip to New Orleans.

I LOVE the brisket here, and the sauces are lovely. But i quit going bc the redhead cashier grl is consistently rude as hell.

I got the brisket and I thought it was really good! The sides were also good, I got collared greens and rice and beans. You order at a counter, and take a number. I was at the Hyatt across the street for a conference, and it's a convenient location to pop over for lunch. My only criticism is that it was a little pricey, but that's mostly offset by the nice location.

Staff look dirty and greasy while touching food with no gloves. Food is flavorless. Meat is dried out. It’s obvious they smoke it and save it to be reheated the next day and potentially saving it for even longer. The meat is only bearable if it’s smothered in sauce. The ribs brisket pork and turkey are all like this. Absolutely horrible. The shells and cheese should be called shells in cheese water, because that’s what it tastes like. The pimento cheese dip is dried out (you can find better pimento cheese at a fast food restaurant). The collards are bitter with no flavor. The dirty rice just tasted like bitter brisket and hot sauce (in s bad way). The potato salad is dried out. The chef has no clue how to make tasty fresh or original barbecue.

Not going back. Food was bleh...we got the 3 meat plate. Fatty brisket was actually good. But you can't get passed the smoke flavor. It's almost too much smoke. The sides weren't good. Mac and cheese was grainy, white beans..again..too much smoke and the pasta salad was bland. There was also a mouse that kept running back and forth like it was normal. (Ratatouille does BBQ) The worker said, "oh it's a New Orleans thing...it's being taken cared of." NO THANK YOU.
