Popular locals place to eat. Had a - very tasty - bowl of Gumbo and a cold beer. 👍

Got the fried chicken and ribs combo. The ribs were very tasty and fell of the bone. The chicken was made to order, was juicy and crisp; for my taste, it could have tasted a little better but was by no means bad, it was very good.
There was a child behind the bar, 9 or 10 year old; yes, the bar where people are drinking alcohol. Anyway, these two ladies kept encouraging the kid and she kept jumping around and being... a kid; which if you sit at a bar, is not something you want to deal with. If you come here, I recommend the ribs; the chicken was not bad but I believe you can get better somewhere else.

(Very bad customer service). I was over look 3 times for white customer that came in after I did drinks .menu and order.
Owner in so many words act like it was no big deal because she was under staffed and this was a friend "helping out". Your friend cost you 2 customers. She should help and not hinder your business.
Ribs are great. However mashed potatoes are really poor- watery with little flavor. Chicken is dry. Corn has no flavor. I’m not a foody but was hoping for tasty home cooking type food. Maybe other selections are better. However ribs are very tender and tasty.
The white beans are awesome

The bartender acted like he was so busy when we arrived that could not acknowledge our presence. The food was mediocore at best. Do not patronage this business. They dont like or serve black women

Food and service were good. The star for me was the potato salad and the onion rings.

I got the fried chicken meal. The chicken was okay. Some pieces of chicken had more flavor than others. The sweet potatoes were not my favorite but the onion rings was very good. The coating was well seasoned.

Some of the best down-home cooking in the city! Great fried chicken…I love the thin and crispy paneed chicken served on Wednesdays. The sides are always good too and they usually have 3-4 on special any given day. All served up quickly in a simple, warm atmosphere.

Was driving from Las Vegas to Central Florida. On the way I wanted to stop in New Orleans for some of there famous food.A side portion of gumbo and the Dixie Special Po Boy.The gumbo was hot in temp not flavor. Taste of the gumbo can't really describe but can tell it was authentic with creole Cajun flavor. The Dixie Po Boy was an experience in it's own. I don't usually like a dripping sandwich when I bite into it. But this one was different it was extremely joyful to consume. Was well worth the stop in New Orleans for the time. I'll be back one day hopefully sooner than later.Only a few parking spots for the location, but there is public parking available close by.
